I have seen the fundies promoting Obama as a candidate for Anti-Christ. I have seen the talking heads level charges against him as being socialist or even communist.

For anyone who has their butt up on their shoulders over this, I have a couple of questions for you.

On the day before 9/11, Rumsfeld went before a congressional committee whose biggest concern at the time was what happened to over 3 trillion dollars that disappeared into the DoD? The next day, the entire issue disappeared, never to be raised again by the media or the congress.

That was American taxpayer money. Money produced by people who produce goods and services.

Remember the cartoonish King Leonidas in the film 300, who smugly explained that his small band of Spartans brought more to the fight than the larger force comprised of citizen soldiers who held day jobs? Funny how you never hear the rest of the story. If Leonidas' men were professional soldiers, and that was all they did, then whence came their garments, their earthenware, jewelry, currency, tools? Other people. People who were actually producing. Did you know that the Spartans were so parasitic that they had to continually intensify their martial expression of life, to the point where they were outnumbered by slaves in their own lands, and were able to keep them in line (for a time) with their sheer brutality and fear tactics? This is an ideal?

And what about the recent bailouts on Wall Street. Can anyone tell me where the bad debt went?

Look, you can cry all you want about "redistribution of wealth", but if you don't care about the trillions that have disappeared into the revolving door circus of the Pentagon, administrative agencies, and contractors, then you are, frankly, a hypocrite.

I was behind a pickup truck this morning, and in the back window were two stickers, one on either side.

One said "Obama is a Communist".

The other one was a picture of a .357 with a caption that read "We Don't Call 911".

The first thing I thought was how sad it must be to be the guy who feels like he must advertise this stuff. Think of all of the possible statements he could have made to the world, for example:

Baseball is Groovy!
My Wife is Pretty!
I think Phenomenology is Stupid!

...but no, there really are a few stereotypical personality types in this world, and in America, we have somehow produced a hyper-insecure and hysterical personality type that actually believes that it is the pinnacle expression of strength.

"Communist Plot" is what the more sophisticated are going to accuse Obama of heading, in order to activate the idiots like the one driving that truck I saw on the road this morning. A rally cry of "Don't Take My Sh***T!"

Yay America.

Hmmm. Seems to go both ways.

Funny thing is that you probably consider these people patriots. Free speech seems to be OK as long as the person speaking agrees with you. But once you hear a voice unagreeable to you, it all comes tumbling down.

What does it mean when the board index indicates that there are 3 replies, but when you browse the thread, you can find only 2?

I see now.
The matter is that these guys dont even know what communism is, their brains are filled with consuming, penis enlargement tools, and the like trash. they are taught to believe what they watch on tv like Pavlov's dogs... so no wonder they stick such absurdity on their cars...
its not abstract "we" who have made the society the way it is, the society of consumers without brains but with a large belly... people are hyper-insecure, stressed, ignorant, not sure in tomorrow because they are starting to feel that the beautiful sign of democracy is a bubble and every day they are gradually becoming slaves... of banks, of bosses, of their illusions. the system doesnt give them chance to develop themselves - it does the opposite. the weaker and insecure people are the easier to manage them and the less chances for opposition of any kind...
the most awful thing is that few take notice of these signs of degradation/

here is a good example; in one of the threads n ATS people get so enraged about some foreign guy who doesnt know english enough and gives a "racist" name to his cake.... tempest in a teapot...
I post them this and the thread is dead
)):
"how about this?
A guy gets 15 years for stealing $100.00 and Bernie Madoff sits in his $7 million home for stealing $50 billion.

I, too, have often thought about this and even tried to research it a little. It has totally disappeared - only old news articles before 9/11.
