Letter threatening Jackson's life determined to be written by father of man who killed Lincoln

Dismissed for 175 years as a fake, a letter threatening the assassination of President Andrew Jackson has been found to be authentic. And, says the director of the Andrew Jackson Papers Project at the University of Tennessee, the writer was none other than Junius Brutus Booth, father of Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth.

Talk about your coincidences...

It's interesting to think that the reason John Wilkes Booth killed Lincoln could relate to his father having an apparent deep seeded hatred for a president.

Its also rather interesting timing that this is proved right after we elect a "black" president. Not that I think there is a conspiracy lurking beneath.. it is just crazy timing. 175 years, and we decide it IS real, better late than never I suppose.

Now that makes me wonder about that National Treasure 2 show :-)

no no no your looking at this from the wrong angle. The two same president who despised the international banking cartel. Andrew Jackson who got rid of it and had 2 assassination attempts on his life and Lincoln who did get picked off. That is crazy.

Also, National Treasure 2 is a kickass movie. I just watched that today, actually.

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln .

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.

Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born
in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford'.
Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford'.

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe , Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was in Marilyn Monroe

I recieved this in an email...

You know I had actually seen a show once (could have sworn it was on History channel) a long time ago.. and it had a list of all those coincidences.

You immediately want to dismiss it as random chance, but all the facts do intertwine in a curious manner.

Plus, the last line makes me chuckle.

Maybe the Booth family has a long, secret history of being lackeys for the bankers... just like the Bush family has a long, not-quite-secret, but rather quiet history of being the front-men politicians for those same bankers.

Maybe this information came out now to remind Obama that his mission is to promise change, not deliver it. Sort of a message saying, "Remember, Sir, we have people in place to keep you in yours."

You know, I did not want to go that route.. but you do show a good angle. It is very coincidental timing.

Although sounding good from a CT angle, I'd have to say no.

First of all, we've put together the banker angle here with the help of JeffersonsGeist (many thanks)

Plus, BHO is the first Pres to have access to his BBerry and thus be picking up this little article.


Like I said though... the "timing" angle is great fodder for a book.

Agreed, but the banker angle is just that.. an angle.

Lots of coincidences.. but hey its ATS, we have to look at all the angles.

It could be both angles. It could be the bankers sending the message. It could be neither angle. It could even be a coincidence.

It makes me a bit sad inside to know that this thread will probably just end in a bunch of people arguing over which one it is... like every other thread on the Internet. :-(
