Actually with a large enough force of simple small arms (hunting rifles, revolvers, etc.) we do have access to Apaches, M1 Abrams. for historical
reference look into John Brown, an abolitionist, that was executed for treason against the State of Virginia. Also in a civil war situation many will
upgrade their arms from the dead.
A large number of household products can also be combined in ways not intended to supplement simple small arms such as Clorox Bleach and brake fluid
for heavy smoke screen for diversion, concealment of forces or to hide a retreat or feint.
What I find is telling in this legislation that archaic firearms (black powder) and not included. They never are for some reason. The caliber is
always higher than conventional arms and due to advances in manufacturing they are just as accurate as their counterparts. Long gone also is the
ramming of mini balls down the barrel as there are prepared cartridges ready for purchase.
Now some say you end up on a gov't database is no big deal. Post 9/11 means that all law enforcement agencies now share information. Unsolved murder
in your neighborhood by a 9mm? Let's just call up the records of every registered 9mm owner for a suspect list and bring them in for questioning.
"Well Mr. Smith it seems you have a file with the DHS, FBI, CIA and Secret Service. Would you like to explain this?" It just so happens that this
Mr. Smith has a CDL with Haz-Mat endorsement and has filed for the FAST card to transport loads in and out of Canada. He was also a cashier in his
younger days deposited a counterfeit bill in a bank deposit unknowingly. (which gets you an interview with a SS agent or FBI agent or both in my
particular case. I am also listed with the NSA for my knowledge and working background of computer networks and other communications--Ed note)
As a person that did turn down an offer of employment as a LEO during the hiring process, I can honestly say I would rather face a tweeker with an
AK-47 at a second story window than a sober, diligent man with a cache of some 30 black powder rifles in the same spot.
