I just discovered this group, and I have fallen instantly in love with their sound. They call their genre dark Jazz. It's very somber, atmospheric, and very much genius IMO.

This is their official site if you are interested.

Here is a selection from their three latest albums

Crimson Ways

Kleiner Finger

Does anyone know of any other bands that have a comparative sound to this?

Wow, I love this band since years and I actually saw them live in Hamburg last November!
I admire the atmosphere and the state of trance it can create!
Good find!

I guess you would also like the album Perdition City by Ulver. Take a listen!

Its not imaginable. but you surely will get the opportunity to see them, they will tour again! I met the drummer and he was really positive about a big tour to come in 2010. So get ready for some intense music

They are clearly in it for the music. Groups such as this really go above and beyond with their talent. I hope that big tour means they are coming to the United States.

I found another group that I really like, and that I find comparable in some ways.

Perhaps you and others will as well as Bohren & Der Club of Gore.

They are called Veritas and their newest album is called Calling the Storm. It's another atmospheric ambient treat. So far, by what I have heard they are acoustic, which is actually great.

Definitely check out The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble. Excellent stuff that you want, OP.
