You can't compare 2004 to 2008. 2000 is a fair comparison to 2008, and people were pretty fair to Bush in 2000. They certainly did not get mad over two words that they couldn't put into context.

What a short or spotty memory, or maybe you were too young to care about politics in 2000.

Remember that Bush "stole" the 2000 (and 2004! ) election. You think the demos gave him any kind of pass even before he took office?

I do remember that. In fairness, the 2000 election was so close that it was crazy. But that's one thing. It may not be a valid claim, but it was based off of something.

How many smear threads can you find about Obama since he won the election? How many times have you heard stuff blamed on him before he took office?

I don't know about you, but I remember a thread that blamed the tanking economy on him because he got elected.

So, I'm sorry, I just don't see a correlation and I think it's a lame excuse to sling mud.

I am not deflecting it. You are upset because you know I am correct. There are things I disagree with Obama about, but this certainly isn't one of them.

Obama supposedly said, "I won". You don't know anything else. That's all you know. Honestly, you can't take anything away from that. You don't know anything about it. Just like he could have said, "That's gay". Did he mean it in a derogatory way, or did he mean it like it is festive?

You don't know, nor do I. But even still, is it really comparable to Bush? I mean, in what way is saying, "I won" like water boarding people who haven't gotten due process?

Can you please clarify?

Yeah, I know but I still try against all hope.

So, why is a moderator in here trolling and trying to derail a thread? Its not the first time I've seen it going on, almost always in anti-Obama threads. Does MSNBC have moderators in here or something?

Anyway, I find this hilarious. When democrats were the minority, we were told they were the check on Bush's power. Also that they were the "insurgent party". The media made all kidns of justifications for why it was ok for them to drag their feet on everything.

Now its different, because now democrats are in control. Now we're all just supposed to bed over and accept Democrat rule. Why would we ever do that? We don't agree with democrat/left wing/socialist policy. Its bad enough that Bush pushed this bill, b ut now we have a real danger of becoming full blown socialist. No thanks.

A common revision of history by the left. Go back and look at Bush's 2001 inauguration! Bush was never given a honeymoon or pass. It never happened. They went after bush from day 1. Not to mention blaming him for 9/11 and creating these 9/11 conspiracies.

What do you mean supposedly? Its right there. I love how all you Bush sleuths are suddenly skeptics when it comes to Obama.

Do you ave anything to add and rebuke Centurion's post? If not that move on, because you've adding nothing but derails and distractions. Which seems to be the objective of Both Obama supporters AND mods around here.

Really? Bush sleuths? At least we got a damn youtube video of him saying it or something. At least we knew for a fact what he said.

The article clearly states that they only heard that he said that, and it provides no context for which he said it in. If you can't understand what it means to take words out of context, then just go back into whatever hole you crawled out of.

Clearly you are missing the mark in attacking me and mods by sticking up for this ridiculous thread. There have got to be better attack threads on Obama that you could waste your time more efficiently on.

Good post. Gave you a star even though we probably don't agree an the basic issue. Unlike those here that deflect by "shooting the messenger", the meeting did take place, it is now reported in several places that obama's "I won" comment was surely made to arrogantly put the Republicans questioning the huge pork filled bailout measure being pushed by the demos in their place.

That's all I was reporting in this thread. Some here can't stand to see anything anti-obama posted and immediately go after the OP, rather than try and discuss the issue. As if obama arrogantly saying "I won", when like most politicians he had previously promised cooperation, is something to defend to the death. There are supposed to be rules here against that kind of behavior, but they seem to be rather selectively enforced.

Earth to obamaphiles: like recent past presidents, your guy is going to be scrutinized and criticized. Obama is humanly going to make mistakes . If you feel you have to go after every one like this one, it's going to be a very long 4 years for you.

Obama Says His View on Taxes Prevailed Because 'I Won'

www.foxnews.com...

The "I won" comment came after Rep. Eric Cantor, R-Va., said Republicans believed cutting income taxed would do more to stimulate economic growth than providing a $500 per person payroll tax refund for individuals earning less than $200,000. The president said, according to those present, that this was an important philosophical divide between Republican and Democrats and that it had already been settled -- and would remain settled -- because he won the election.

I was thinking about this this morning, it isn't about who won.

The people who voted for him won or will lose out , he is a little cocky.

The president added, "I won. So I think on that one, I trump you."

More pro-Bush anti-Obama BS. That's all I see here.

Compare this comment (which is third-hand at best) with the actual acts carried out by Bush, and there is no argument.

Seriously, you take one comment by others on what a person supposedly "noted" (what does that even mean, are these people mind readers now too?) and that supposedly destroys everything a man has stood for over the last year?

Clutching at straws much?

Their is nothing to discuss, it was taken out of context and we do not know what all was said, everyone has been trying to tell you that but you have been convienently looking over it for the past 2 pages.

Obviously you just don't like Obama and willl jump on anything so you can tear the man down, and anyone who doesn't agree with you is just an OBAMAPHILE, please now that is deflection.

This will probably get ignored though and fall on deaf ears.
