It is indeed confounding that more folks don't see the abject mess we're in..brainwashed is too light a term for the head in the sand reactions that I get when trying to wake people up...the more solid undeniable facts that you present, the more their eyes roll into the back of their heads..

The good news is there are more people awake and ready than you might think...people that have been expecting this for quite some time, and have the means and ways to rectify things....The bad news is, they feel, that they must wait until the present system crumbles almost to oblivion before they act..

I'll be darned, an interesting segment on Fox News, and Glenn Beck didn't overly annoy me. You know everyone that isn't with Ron Paul 100% isn't 100% against what he says. I would like to hear more people in congress and the media address these issues. Although I think they are already nodding off we cannot let the media or our voices fall asleep again like we did in the early Bush 43 years. I voted for Obama but I'm against these bailouts. I understand the instinct to try to save everybody's job by saving their employer but that's just corporate welfare in my opinion.

We need to care for sick people but sick companies should get weeded out through evolution.

And You know what the really fun-part is? The moment we (the west) "get The Hell Out" , They will immediately start slaughtering each other, start buying more and more guns and tanks. Putting themselves deeper and deeper in debt with the west. So instead of cósting us billions of dollars and risk our sons&daughters lives, we make a nice buck, while further developing alternative energies with the money that those wars did NOT cost us
No more oil needed-->
End result?:Empty Afghanistan, bankrupt Arab states, powerless, bankrupt Irani`s....Win Win I would say.

Why did nobody think of it?? Or am I a bit too cynical?

At a serious note: We do need to get out. It is a mirage to think One can turn around a complete culture in a meagre 10 years. Hell, it took Europe several centuries to grow above small kingdoms that were constantly in war over religion, over land etc. etc. To grow above bandit states, tribalism, colonialism.

Why do we think we can turn around the Arab world in less time than it takes to raise a kid?

Tonight i took out my wife to dinner for her birthday with some of our friends. Just a regular dinner..nothing special..until..

Someone called someone else a Republican as kind of a joke/insult. Of course, the guy was offended. "Hell no i'm a Democrat."

I, of course not being able to keep my mouth shut, told him they do the same crap. They both spend and are promoting war. He said, "No, Democrats are for people, Republicans are for business."

What is that? It pissed me off but I let it go (would have been in the dog house with the old lady if i did). I let him go off on his own rant. This is someone who pays no attention to anything that is going on in the world. This is the kind of people that vote. This is the kind of blind political one-sided BS that is ruining this country.

If you step outside your political party that you stand for and look at both parties as a whole...YOU WILL SEE IT. They bicker on issues all the while overriding the fact that they won't stop spending our money.

I hope that RP gets more tv time. Even if you don't agree with his views, what is happening right now is not a lie. It's all real.

If only I could make people listen.

Good posts David. You hit the nail on the head. The two parties are two sides of the same coin. They rule by FEAR, have the same agenda, and use the same methods.
The primary weapon of the entire crew, Congress, The Administration, and the MSM, is FEAR. Keep the people in fear, and they will agree to anything. Bush used the war on terror as his primary weapon of fear, and now Obama is using the staged financial crisis to maintain that fear. What is their goal? Simply to transfer virtually all of the wealth to their fellow conspirators and themselves.

Let me list the fears that they have successfully imposed upon people:

Fear of Terrorism

Fear of Financial Ruin

Fear of Job Loss (keep those layoff notices coming)

Fear of Loss of Health Care

Fear of China

Fear of Russia

Fear of Islam

Fear of Oil disruption

The politicians concoct the fear, and the MSM gladly spreads the word.

The only way to fight them is to reveal the truth. Fear relies on DARKNESS and IGNORANCE.
There is no real change in the Obama administration, just more FEAR.

Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it.

All sciences have the faculty of prediction, and this is es
pecially true of the science of finance. It will, therefore, pay
politicians who by the vagaries of elections are placed at the
helm of public affairs as well as businessmen and citizens gen
erally to familiarize themselves with this science. There are
sciences so lofty as to forgive those who treat them with con
tempt. But the science of finance is not one of them. It has a
terrible fashion of avenging itself upon governments and
peoples who ignore or defy it.

A good source for the US Financial History is at www.questia.com...

It's lengthy, 560 pages, but, gives a good overview of the US's spiralling economy's growth and potential collapse.
There are more good sources for milestones and histories-- like of the Banking system and the Non Governmental Privately Owned IRS, etc. if you can get beyond GOOGLE's top pick's

Sadly, it doesn't seem like people want the truth. They just don't care. So many have never dealt with a real crisis personally that they think everything will keep going as it is. Pretending that there isn't a problem does not make the problem go away.

I'll give another example here. When i was at work today, i told one of my co-workers about the "stimulus package". He said to me, "Yeah, we really need to rebuild our infrastructure."

I replied, "But we are trillions and trillions in debt. Social security and medicare are going to be bankrupt. We have no money," and told him him what the cost would be per person because of this debt.

His reply? "Well at least we'll have something to show for it."

Lol...What?!?!!?! Yeah, we'll all be broke but at least we'll have some nice bridges to cross!

Others i have talked to almost seem to get angry just for the fact that i'm even talking about it. If this is the reasoning of most American people we are doomed.

What can you do when people think this way?

This is a stunning interview. Ron Paul, Congressmen talking about the collapse of the dollar, new type of government controlled capitalism and a new currency. I am getting this out to as many people as possible. He has been right all along and it is sad that nobody listens.

Dr. Paul should have been the Republican presidential candidate and would have been a much better choice over McCain. The MSM shut him out and he was ignored. They didn't want him ruffling any feathers while they were propping up the chosen one Obama.

S&F.

That was a great post. Unfortunately you are one of the few Americans that gets it and sees the destruction of our great nation happening right under our noses. Most Americans are too busy watching American Idol or some other mindless drivel to even care what is happening. I fear the masses will not wake up and realize what is happening until its too late.

You are right. What the government is doing isn't making any sense. They keep spending money, increasing our debt.

I thought we needed to leave Iraq because the money it was costing us. So we leave there and pump more troops into Afganistan?

All this going on and no one seems to give a damn.

The middle east is a gigantic drain on this country...sucking us dry. We need to get the hell out of there...NOW.

It's amazing to me. We see what we need to do...we see what the problem is....SO WE DO THE EXACT OPPOSITE.

Cripes.

I think that you are misunderstanding a few things about the fundamentals of Capitalism on a grand scale. Let's flash back to The Great Depression and how the United States got out of that mess. Some will argue, and I tend to agree with them, that the biggest factor of pulling the entire world out of that mess was World War 2 and the money pumped into weapons spending and grand scale manufacturing. But WW2 wasn't the only factor that pulled the United States out of the Great Depression, it was the FDR administration pumping millions of dollars into government sponsored projects, mostly in infrastructure. Obviously we are in a RECESSION, not a depression, so be thankful that the world can go about fixing this in a peaceful manner.

Don't let the chicken littles scare you into thinking that the global economy is one step away from a mass depression, because it is not. The American government is believe it or not people, acting as Capitalists, by investing money into this problem and hoping to come out with more then they put in. Risk and Reward... and we are betting that we know what we are doing and hoping for the best. Obviously the risks of this proposition are a considerable weakening of the American dollar and the possibility that China will become the worlds largest financial superpower if that hasn't happened already.

Although I don't agree with all of the ways they are spending this money, I do agree that they need to spend it. If they spend the money on things like infrastructure, it is literally killing two birds with one stone. You got jobs that CANNOT be outsourced and new roads for everyone. And it's not just in roads, even this Green Initiative stuff, even if you don't believe in global warming or not, will create more jobs for college professionals and high school dropouts alike. And what is money? It isn't material, it's nothing but faith. Hording it under the federal mattress and not spending it is what is making the problem worse. Honestly I'm happy that this country has the balls to lay the cards on the table because it is the right thing to do. And on the off chance that America does go down, I'll be content knowing that this country went down with its core values still in tact.

That's the thing. This is a US congressmen saying this. One guy. You think with this kind of "allegation" it would be all over the news right? NOPE. Notta..zip...zero.

Completely ignored. Even if you thought the guy was a complete lunatic this should still be big news.

What is happening to this country?

but is there nothing to be done about it, the American people must be able to do something, after all, it only takes 20% of the population to create an unstoppable force.

The media is nothing but a shill for TPTB. Journalism is pretty much dead at this point. They exist to push certain viewpoints and agendas. Ron Paul doen't fit into the picture so he is simply pushed to the side. If the MSM media doesn't cover you in this country you have no voice or power.

But WW2 wasn't the only factor that pulled the United States out of the Great Depression, it was the FDR administration pumping millions of dollars into government sponsored projects, mostly in infrastructure.

Actually, many economists believe just the opposite, namely that FDR made the recession worse, as a result of his socialist policies.

economic historian Burt Fulsom noted: ...starting in 1932, Hoover raised the top income tax from Mellon’s 24 percent to 63 percent. In the middle of the Depression, Fulsom remarked, they were in effect telling entrepreneurs, 'we'd sure appreciate if you built a factory and create jobs. Of course, we’re going to take five eighths of your income…' FDR subsequently raised the top level to 79 percent. "I wonder why the Great Depression continued," mused Fulsom.

New Deal or Raw Deal?: How FDR's Economic Legacy Has Damaged America (Hardcover) by Burton W., Jr. Folsom (Author)

"History books and politicians in both parties sing the praises for Franklin Delano Roosevelt's presidency and its measures to get America out of the Great Depression. What goes unappreciated is the fact that many of those measures exacerbated and extended the economic downturn of the 1930s. New Deal or Raw Deal? is a careful documentation and analysis of those measures that allows us to reach only one conclusion: While President Roosevelt was a great man in some respects, his economic policy was a disaster. What's worse is that public ignorance of those policy failures has lent support for similar policies in later years. Professor Burt Folsom has produced a highly readable book and has done a yeoman's job in exposing the New Deal."-- Walter E. Williams, John M. Olin Distinguished Professor of Economics, George Mason University

Ron Paul is a remarkable voice of reason.

Because his statements seem so outlandish with regard to his colleagues ( the rest of congress ) the American masses ( who have basically been trained all their lives never, ever under any circumstances to have an original thought of thier own ) percieve him as a 'nut' ...

That's the reason the media can defend the fact that they ignore him. It is quite ironic that Paul and his 'voice of reason' have been entirely marginalized. It is also a sign of very bad things to come.

There's absolutely no way out ! This thing is gonna all implode - bigtime !!

Great post.

Things will get much worse, the dollar will collapse and the new currency will be ushered in.

You'll get about 10 cents on every dollar you have.

Martial law executive order

We're toast.

You see, David, your problem is you are using your brain, not talking points from the idiot box. Most people merely parrot what they hear from the MSM, so when people like Ron Paul or you or I speak, we "conflict" with what they have heard, and most aren't prudent enough to think it through, and resolve the conflict. They take the lazy way out, and declare us "wrong", and then go back to watching the boob tube.

If they only realized that it was BIG GOVERNMENT that got us into this mess, how can BIG GOVERNMENT possibly get us out of this mess?

I like to use the analogy of a child that is banging his head against the wall, and yelling that it hurts, so he concludes that in order to stop the pain, he has to bang his head harder against the wall. That is what government is doing, only it is not to its head, but ours.

They've been investing money in various areas for years. Why do you think we have a 53 trillion dollar debt staring us in the face? We have gigantic social programs that we don't have the money for on top of the trillions that they seem to keep throwing on the pile.

If it all straightens out...by some crazy miracle...do you think it's going to be infrastructure and green jobs that does it? This is what you think will pull the country out of this gigantic mess? It looks more to me like peeing in the wind than a fix.

This stimulus package won't change anything. It won't erase the debt. It won't erase the out of control spending. It will raise an inevitable HUGE increase in taxes....taxes that we pay far too much of already..for things many of us don't even approve of.

Sadly, I'm afraid you are right. Buy non-perishable food, medical supplies, and if you live in the north, buy a backup heat source. This is not scare mongering on my part, it is reality. Look at the layoffs, the discontent, the increased surveillance by the government, prepare for the worst. At a minimum, hyper-inflation is a certainty.

if most of what is said is true in many of the threads on this website, there is nothing you can do. we will be broken down, until we just give in so we can still live. life is our most precious thing, and a comfortable life at that, and as much as the "non sheeple" would like to fight it, you would choose life, and the continued following of a flawed and foul system, over death.

this is what any person in power can guarantee is a 100% fact. hypothetically, if you are the dictator of a city of 10 million, the easiest way to control them is through fear. when you fear something, it means its dangerous to your health, well being, life, and being very non accepting of death as a society in whole, we would do whatever it takes to live, and live in comfort. the most dangerous man, is a man who does not fear death, for he can fight to the bone to live, without concern of the possible repercussions.

if we have to continue with a corrupt system, we will, if we have to turn on people, we will. i wont turn on my family, friends, or my own man, unless they turn on me, but i cant say i can do much about not following a system that is more powerful than the fictional character, superman.

they are literally that strong, and its by numbers. not to use a fictional character within a serious debate, but even if superman was alive, and was flying around, fighting back, and yelling at the top of his lungs about the atrocities of every day life, and how we need to fix them, it would make no difference if the majority did not believe him, and or, did not want to believe him out of fear.

now we're dealing with non fictional characters, human beings like you and me, who cant stop bullets, armies, or freely become a vigilante running around town with a mask on, committing acts of vengeance against those who have screwed us over as a country for so long, and even if someone were to hypothetically be able to do all 3 of those, who would follow him? you might cheer from your living rooms, but would you don the mask and fight back also?

many of us want to fight, but we dont want to risk our families and friends being the ones to suffer from our actions. hence why even when our jobs suck, stress us out, and make us livid, we still go in everyday, because we wouldnt want to make it any worse by doing something illegal but less stressful, and getting in trouble, so now its not just you stressing, but your family and friends.

notice how all fictional vigilantes, or heroes, are generally the only sibling, or have a very small family. i think our works of fiction have deep roots in reality on many levels, and our subconscious brings these to light through art and literature, mixed in with just a little conscious common sense. until heroes are born with nothing to lose, and a pact to never stop until things have changed, billions of people are going to have to bend over and take it.

but sites like this must never fall, because even if we cant become the vigilantes ourselves, we must still stay informed, and ready for whats coming.

sometimes your only option is to prepare yourself, and brace for the impact. those most prepared for impact will survive, and will be able to live on and hopefully make change, the others as history has shown us, will perish one way or another.

but being pessimistic never changed anything, so you got smile for the future, and keep trying until it becomes a better place. unfortunately, many did not prepare for this downfall we are having, and like most of the time when down times happen, we are not prepared. we are only to blame for that, because the fact that so many millions are not, and have not been prepared for this down time, does nothing but make it worse on so many levels.
