most people have nothing to worry about as they have nothing to hide. it is not like they have a hidden camera in your bathroom or shower.

You can thank us brits for the surveillance technology.... God save our gracious Queen...

That was in 2005, I hope they're monitoring all communications now.

This is the third, I believe. That I've seen anyway. And no other ATS member has mentioned it.

HOLY BAT WINGS SOMEONE WAS PAYING ATTENTION!!

Why Thank you Ian that makes me feel better for squawking about it so much.
Yes their is darn near no limit to media trickery from laser light shows to 3D tv down to the average 9 oclock news... And its those SCL fellows that help manipulate both foreign and domestic thought through high power propaganda.

THese are the folks that think Nero Linguistic Programing is a pleasant hobby.

More should know about them and Operation mockingbird ..(CIA that one)

Their meta tags in the HTML source code actually lists stuff like this::

keywords" content="Strategic Communication Laboratories, SCL, Behavioural Dynamica Institute,
BDI, Strategic Influence, Psychological Operations, psycops, Information warfare, strategic communications"

description" content="Strategic Communication Laboratories is the leading supplier of
Information Operations, Strategic Communication and Public Diplomacy services to governments and military clients worldwide."

Wow slightly deceptive operation dont ya think?

305,000,000 in the US. How was "everyone" being spied on?

I thought you guys all knew this was happening and were all happy to allow it?

Didn't Bush convince you enough that you need saving, from yourselves? You can't have freedom, because there are bogey men out there wanting to take your freedom away, so you shouldn't have freedom for them to...

No, your right, that doesn't make sense, now it is all suddenly becoming clear

/sarcasm

Srsly, did that many people think that this WASN'T happening?

I look forward to the many new revelations about massive databases of "insurgents" and lists of "non-patriots" over the coming months. But no doubt, there will be people on here defending Bush and his policies on tracking and controlling for the "security of the nation" and all that BS.

Again, America, you let this happen.

Its sad when our government comes to this low.
I doubt that anything will be done about it.

Very good read. Personally I think eavesdropping in worldwide scale has been going on for a long time. S&F for this for sure. Ever heard of project ECHELON??????

Google it and you will find some interesting information. I would also suggest doing some in depth research on the NSA and NRO and you will find some things a little disturbing to our supposed privacy. For some reason most things I read about the NSA remind me of Dan Browns book Digital Fortress. I would recommend that as its a good novel also.

I think the surveillance and wiretapping issue is much deeper than most realize.

You sign up for a Telephone, Cellphone, Internet Service, Cable Service, Loans for a Car, Home, Boat, Motorcycle, to Lease, Rent, or Purchase-- whether you do or not-- Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Video Rentals, Paternity Registration, Birth- Marriage- Divorce-Licenses, Driver-- Commercial and Non-- Licenses, School- College- Trade School Loans and Education, Specialized Organizational or Program Admittance or Training, Social Security and Taxes, Medical- Commercial- Private- Government- Armed Forces- Alphabet Agency- and Law Enforcement Products, Services, Databases, etc., The aggregate information given to private sources which are bound under Law to make available to Government Sources, and data given directly to Government Sources. Information collected by one source, quantified and passed on to another source and quatified further until everything about you can be obtained by cross referrencing a multitude of sources, unbeknownst to one source or another. Don't forget law requires phone companies, Internet Providers and the like to maintain an archival database for all users identified by all sorts of means, from Social Security and other identification numbers, to internally generated identification account numbers, on through to Internet Protocal numbers and related site addresses, and made available to Government approved individuals/ entities, while the existance of these databases are denied to exist are written into the USC and CFR by relevant Acts of Public Law.

How??? How naive could one be? I could organize it in my sleep. Oh wait, I just laid out a basic matrix of data collection sources for quantification and listing for you, didn't I? Feel free to add to the list, but, it won't change the truth of how it is accomplished.

Disinformation and overloading of id and account related information, as well as Civilian Legislation imposed Reform denying access of Privacy- Related Information from all political, Law enforcement, governmental, Armed Forces, Commercial, Medical, and aggregate, demographic, as well as political individuals, entities, agencies, organizations, programs, etc. Both Public and Private. Are about the closest you can ever come to protecting your privacy. Not that hackers and criminal related societal elements can't overtly and covertly side step even those measures.
Isn't it hilarious that the very Acts of Law which protect your Privacy are the very ones that give it up. Blame yourselves for not reading the fine print and consenting- if only by ommission of action-- to allow them to be implenented.

PRIVACY NEITHER DOES NOT NOW EXIST, NOR, WILL LIKELY EVER EXIST AGAIN IN THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE, IF IT HAS EVER EXISTED AT ALL !!!.

The real question is how do we oversee the overseer, how do we spy on the spies?

I just love the hypocrisy on ATS. The general idea here being posts about conspiracy so there is alot of people saying "do not believe what the government and MSM says its all lies. They are rulled by -insert well known secret society here-" but when it comes to somthing that the ATS WANTS to here it like they found the holy grail. So its like you see the paper on monday and the headline reads its "osama behind terror atacks on 9/11" and you say what a load of crap. Tuesday the headline reads "Government is spying on YOU" then its oh my god look what they said they are doing.

Seems a little step with all the electronic communication going on and satellites in the sky.

I doubt that anything would change, it would be 'compromising homeland security'.

as David pointed out: its called ECHELON. supposedly able to simultaneously monitor all global communication. intended for military use only. its a program set up by the US/UK in which they use each others intel networks to eavesdrop on companies, private citizens and subjects. (austrailia, canada, new zealand, u.s., uk - the uk/usa security agreement.)

since it is technically illegal to spy on your own people, you have your allies do it for you.

You sound proud to have all your conversations and actions recorded. Isn't is England and the U.K. that have somewhere over 4 million cctv's watching and recording everything including their shopping habits?

Doesn't sound so great to me and those who enjoy privacy.......

I've been aware for along time, seeing as I've had chance to study the Federal, State, and Local Laws. That and the fact that I can read them as Black's Law and their own definitions, define them to read. Ie: "must" means optional, while "may" means required-- seems backwards doesn't it? That's how they fool you. Learn to read the definitions and legal applications, before bothering to read and interpret what's wriiten. You wouldn't read Hebrew without knowing the language, grammar, composition, and it's applied literature usage would you? I'd hope not. What's more, I already know I'm on these lists, I was there when they put me on them.

Don't forget about the MANDRAKE Brittish Infrared digital tracking and monitoring database system which uses facial recognition and heat signature technologies, as well as, xray bone and teeth analysis, to match and locate those listed and flagged in the sytem, as well as, inducting new profiles into it. US airports have already admitted to using the technology. They deny it's use in all the News media local mounted camera's and the street traffic camera's, but, hey, what's one more lie, smile, you're on identification, tracking, monitoring, and locating, TV.

Very well done. It reminds me of 1982 by George Orwell. People think we are heading that way, WAIT! WE ARE ALREADY THERE!!
We will always think we are heading there but never realize that it is now.

Like a frog in a pot the world slowly heats to a boil but the frog does not realizing its already boiling to death as it has been conditioned to accept and not think critically and realistically. This is our state that all the sheep allowed because SIMPLE THINGS WERE MORE IMPORTANT THAN INTELLIGENCE AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS! (calming down now)

And they wonder why I'm paranoid and spoof everything possible............

Was this the prequel to 1984? You need to remember:

SIMPLE THINGS WERE MORE IMPORTANT THAN INTELLIGENCE AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS!

oh yeah 1984 was written in 1948 and people have been saying were heading there/already there ever since. Ask your parents

I have to agree in the sense that Obama isn't going to be any different than Bush. Anybody who thinks this new administration is going to be any different is living in dreamland. Things are going to continue to get worse for all americans under Obama, he's going to continue to drive the economy into the ground and take our rights away. This is the same guy who has once said he would like a NATION wide ban on concealed carry permits and said he'd like to see some kind of civilian police force as well funded and equiped as the military in the U.S..... Does that sound like taking away our guns and ushering in martial law to anybody else???? Bush was a globalists who acted like he was a conservative nationalist, Obama is a globalist who openly displays that he is a globalist and a socialist, who do you think is going to be worse??? Bush completely opened the countys borders, look for Obama to erase them! Yes we're in for alot worse under this new administration....
