That being said...

My question is, that if President Bush was such a savior of the US and such a great leader; Why didn't John McCain/Sarah Palin campaign on that platform rather than run from any mention of President Bush.

Do you think that if they had of run on 4 more years of the same type of administration as President Bush, they would have taken the WH?

Questions the GOP needs to address if they expect to regain any credibility.

Please forgive me MEMORY. I will stick to the topic. I think GW was a wonderful president and I hope Obama will be too. I hope Obama leads the US as well or better than GW, not because I agree with him, but for the sake of our Nation.

And let us not forget that George Bush also had a great sense of humour, as when he joked to journalists about looking for weapons of mass destruction in the Oval Office while US soldiers and Iraqi civilians were being maimed and killed in the same fruitless search in Iraq.

But my own real favourite Bush gag was when he vulgarised Abraham Lincoln's famous words thus: "You can fool some of the people all of the time... and those are the ones that you have to concentrate on." To even have thought up this "joke" requires a level of innate cynicism that I find quite shocking in someone whom the American people chose to trust with the same office as the noble Lincoln. To have aired it publically revealed his open contempt for the "some of the people", including a surprising number of members of ATS it seems, who were suckered and continue to be suckered by his lies.

Real Bush dupes who support him should be ashamed of themselves. Pentagon employed agents who spread fake pro-Bush support on ATS should be MORE ashamed of themselves.

I also have tremendous respect for Mr. President Bush. He has kept us safe and done a good job. The libs always put him down, since day 1. They seem to forget that the economy a couple years ago, was the best that it has ever been. That was because of the polocies President Bush put in place. Now we have obama, taking away those policies. Feeling "bad" for terrorists and promising the poor and middle class the world. Which, he promised without fact. That is why he got the votes. If he sets in montion the things he has "talked" about many businesses and people are going to be in trouble. Get your guns now because you won't be able to soon. Save your money because hard times are coming. We are getting ready for the biggest government expansion in history times 3..... and all the libs and media do is praise this man. I guess all we can do is wait and see what happens.

I just couldn't agree more!!!
Why are peolple (I'm on the verge to call them SHEEPLE, because thats what they ARE!) think that Obama will change this?`
Do they really THINK he can?
Anyyone who spent more than 2days on topics that are discussed here would NEVER THINK (attention to the word: "THINK") that Obama does anything that's not signed by the elite.
IMO they don't THINK....They HOPE.
That's what they've been deluded with!

OH COMMAAAANN!!! WHAT'S UP WITH YOU GUYS? WHAT HAPPEND?
Are you really this blind? Are you?

I won't bother to repeat my point of view here. If you wan't to know why I'm thinking what I'm thinking find out for YOURSELF!

But all those Obama-lovers on here will just believe (not THINK) that I'm a nut.

I am officially ASHAMED of CONSPIRACY THEORIES because they've been turned into ENTERTAINMENT!! YOU have turned it into ENTERTAINMENT! And by "YOU" I mean YOU!
You don't THINK anymore!
You say "ah well....at least it will be better than Bush, so I'm happy"
What else can I write other than "FOOLS" on this? What else?
NOTHING!

And next will be YOU asking "what are we supposed to do?"
And THAT IS THE ESSENCE of why you are in trouble in the first place!
THINKING would be a good start IMO!

Sorry for this harsh post, but...
YOU ARE RELEASING MY ANGER!!!

And finally ONTOPIC:
I think Bush was a horrible president (reffered to what a "president" is supposed to do). But he was a great man. I bet he is so smart you wouldn't believe it! I bet he is more manly and strong as many would wish him to be! He would smoke you all and me too in a pipe within a single blow!
You gotta have respect to this man for playing the sheep with true virtue and elegance. Oh boy is he smart!
Average people don't stand a chance against him! In no way!

1. Because they had a very liberal media trumpeting the same infantile mentality that you see in this thread - trying to blame everything that went wrong during the last eight years on one man. And they had a large group of people who were fed up with the war and another large group of people who cannot think for themselves to buy into anything the media told them.

2. Because you had people like Jesse Jackson driven by racial hatred, screaming about how it's the white man's turn to feel oppressed, rallying the black vote behind Obama and using every means possible to muster up hate for Bush

3. Because the Democrats and liberals would never dare blame anything on the Clintons, despite the failure of Bill Clinton to address the problem of Al Qaida while he was president

This is what disturbs me... How is Osama, I mean Obama so great? Name one thing he has done that is great except walk out of the cesspool in Chicago and in to the White House in Washington. He has done nothing period except kill 10 people today... He is now a war criminal and a murder.

So I guess when Bush killed terrorists he was wrong but when the chosen one does it then its humanity? Keep drinking the Jim Jones Kool-Aid over there in Finland....

Thanks for the reply but this is just more of crybaby, Rush L. whining and blaming everything on the Drive by Media.

And the GOP claims to be the party of personal responsibility but can't stand any criticism of their "Messiah" and blames everything on someone or something else.

Come on sos37, man it up and face the facts "W" chumped us all out in favor of his oil buddy friends and the corpratacracy.

To the "The Bald Champion"

Here is your "Hope and Change" not my words but, the words of your New President...

"When the winds of change blow, I will stand with my Muslim brothers"
- Barrack Obama - "Dreams of my Father"

"White mans greed, runs a world in need"
- Barrack Obama "The Audacity of Hope"

I suggest your read your new Presidents books.

52% of the voting populace voted for someone they knew nothing about. They heard only what the mainstream media portrayed. Who, never asked him any hard questions or checked any of his records.

For the last 20 years this Country has been on a slippery slope to Socialism / Communism.

Neither has worked before is will fail again.

I wish you luck when all comes crumbling down in your little world!

I wish no ill on you, or anyone that voted for Barack Hussein Obama only that you postulate (THINK) what is transpiring here in the last breaths of what was once the Great United States of America.

Nationalism and Socialism = NAZISM, only this time is against more.

Think before you reply, for you are acting on a hatred for something you do not understand, or can comprehend.

That was excellent. You put into words what I could not, most people voted for Obama without a clue to his back ground or what he will turn this country into. I also wish no ill will on Barak or the peolpe that voted for him. To do so would only wish ill will on America in general. I simply pray that we are ok. I hope with all my might the nightmare off what coulod come out of this is just that a bad dream and nothing more.

Im not aware of such a drink sorry

"He has done nothing period except kill 10 people today... He is now a war criminal and a murder"

Do you mean about the war ? What would you do, the first thing when you would become a president ? Pull all soldiers back home ?
Of course im not sure, but i don't think its just that easy

I understand a lot of the anti-Bush mindset. On a site like ATS, I assume most people understand that we only see a small percentage of what is "really going on" in this country...for whatever reasons. I think that if we knew everything President Bush was aware of, we would have different opinions of his actions. Especially with the "war on terror".

And to think, this man was willing to make decisions that he (and apparently many others) felt were the best for the people of America, and is now virtually hated by so many for these choices...its a shame. IMO...Bush is a hero for what he has done to protect this country without fear, without concern of how me will immediately viewed, etc. We the people should be more open to the idea that we don't always know all the reasons and facts that led to decisions.
