The Giver? If I recall the society that the young boy lived in was a dystopia. Hardly a model to follow. Forced euthanasia and strict population control / restriction of freedoms is not my cup of tea.

Rahm has some very disturbing views; most if not all of them encroaching upon our freedoms and liberties.

In the case of something simple like volunteer trash pick up what you learn is that there are irresponsible idiots that make your community service necessary.
