Matthew Good-Load Me Up

This video does no justice to this guy. He is by far my favourite blues player to go see live. This is just an acoustic set. It is an amazing song though. He is one of the best blues guitar players I have ever had the pleasure of seeing play live, both in clubs and at house parties.

The song you can't escape....

Young Artists For Haiti - Wavin' Flag

If it's Young Artists for Haiti, why exactly is Tom Cochrane part of it? He's not exactly a young artist anymore.

I do like this song though. I've been brainwashed by my coworker's love of Top 40 radio.

Matt Andersen-So Gone Now

Matt Andersen-Ain't No Sunshine Since Shes Been Gone.

What this thread needs is a bit of the Beeb.

Baby - Justin Bieber featuring Ludacris (can a rap artist 'jump the shark' as they say in the tv world?)

I'm the biggest fan of craptastic music that I know and even I don't like it. Millions of 13 year old girls can't be wrong though.

Here something to redeem the thread.

Of course.

Funny, I was listening to that SOTW song when i saw you had posted again.

Even if ya don't like fiddle music, you have to appreciate the talent of this guy. He is amazing.

There's people who don't like fiddle music? What's wrong with them?

Great Big Sea - Mari Mac

(sorry if it was already posted, but I love this song)

PS - SOTW was the opening act for my very first concert! They rocked - I wish 'Til the Cows Come Home' was on youtube.

Yay! What a great birthday that will be.

The concert gods have been kind to me as well - it's like a two week celebration of my birthday.

The local fair that always starts a few days before my birthday has a concert each night and it's a super line up this year. For a grand total of $47 dollars plus HST (grrr HST) I'm going to see the following:

Loverboy

Trooper

Spirit of the West, Marianas Trench and some non-canucks like Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper, Wayne Newton (lifetime dream fulfilled), Huey Lewis & Los Lobos. I also have Gaga tickets that week.

I am jealous. that sounds like a lot of fun. I have lots of nights I can't remember watching those guys play in bars across the country.

I'd love to get to see Lady gaga. Shhhhhhhh......... My kid has turned me into a fan. Shhhhhh...... don't tell.

Oh and a cool Canadian band I came across, just to keep the post relevant. Very 80ish new wave kinda sound with a little Canadian pop thrown in.

The Lady Gaga thing will be our littel secret.

Here's a canuck band I used to like. I guess I still like them, all these songs are on my ipod.

Barstool Prophets - Paranoia (ATS appropriate)

Short & Curlies

Little Death

Sad that the videos aren't on youtube, but oh well - still good songs.
