Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent. whitehouse.gov

So the push to reinstate the AWB which we were told by his supporters didnt exist has moved from his campaign website over the site of the White House.

Nope, nothing to be concerned with here.

Obama must have some serious money invested in firearms manufacturers to wish to keep sales pumping at record levels.

FYI, the bill is already in Congress with 4 co-sponsors. All of them Republican. H.R. 6257

Sounds like it.

I don't foresee it happening. They can tout the rhetoric all they want, but doing anything about it is political suicide.

I guess he just want to arm all of America. I would really like to see them try to pass legislation that says all guns must come with gun locks as part of the gun.

The gun manufacturers will probably tell them you do that we aren't producing military weapons either.

They wont do that. They get more money from our taxes via military spending than they do from us.

Getting the companies to refuse to comply is part of the gun-ban strategy. A de-facto ban. Demand all sorts of impossible things of the manufacturers and they will eventually just stop manufacturing.

They'll make military arms and retool most of their shops for different purposes if they dont just close up altogether and lay-off a few million employees.
