LOL that made m laugh!

"I hope this isn't against the rules"

Listen, nothing really, is agaisnt the rules. As long as it is an Art form, that represents ones emotions, life, current situation, personality, etc.

You can pick a art form that someone else made(e.i. a dali painting) or create your own(i.e. A poem you made)

Art forms include choosing(A drawing, photo, poem, book, movie, music, sculpture, tv show).

You can even do a word description of an art form if you cannot choose one.

pretty much anything to do with expression

Like i said in the OP, Sky is the Limit.
You can even choose a Character or actor from a movie to relate too, it doesn't matter.

This song also reflects my life, I know it's from a game, but it is beautiful nontheless.

Distant Worlds

Seas invite in the evening sun
to light the somber abyss.
Clouds dance up with the heavens' stars,
chanting an air of joyous bliss.

Water fades back from blue to jade,
guiding young rainbows high.
Flowers bloom into red and whites,
quenching our hearts when they run dry.

Angels chained by a beast locked in slumber.
Sin washed away by the swift flow of time.

I may know the answers.
Journeys over snow and sand.
What twist in fate has brought us
to tread upon this land?

Blessed by light and the burden of shadow.
Souls abide to an endless desire.

I may know the answers,
though one question I still hear.
What twist in fate has brought us
to roads that run so near?

Distant worlds together.
Miracles from realms beyond.
The lifelight burns inside me
to sing to you this song.
To sing with you this song.
To sing to you your song.

All work and no play... Here is something that describes my life as it feels right now. I need a vacation before I go nuts... (And before anyone points out that I spend a lot of time at ATS, I actually work in front of a PC all day long.
)

(Warning for the sensitive: Techno music. Monotone techno...)

This image by CavemanDD. ( I hope he doesn't mind).

This is why: (My interpretation of the painting)

To me the woman in the painting want to step into the light but knows that she can not. Although the moonlight is beautiful and she feels safe within it it only reveals half the truth. Many secrets lie within.

The sunlit side of the painting represent all that is true honest and joyful and beautiful in the world. A person that is free of lies, deception and dares to lay her heart on the table for all to see.

The woman in the painting is solitary. She stays in the moonlight because she's not met her 'sun' yet. The one who will reach out his hand to confirm to her that she's worthy of crossing over. She's afraid that if she cross over now she would only bring the moonlight with her destroying the 'illusion' of the sunlight that she so desperatly longs to join with.

I decided I'd post it properly this time.

A very interesting interpretation. When I put the woman in I was going for this elegant sort of night spirit. Either dead, immortal, or just part of some curse or circumstance. She doesn't know the day. (note the stars in her dress). The dress is transparent kind of symbolizing an etheric presence. The fact that she's naked symbolizes detachment from the material world - she is dead, or of some different existence, she has her natural form.
Her black hair kind of symbolizes a darkness of some sort, no blond hair fair maiden in a sunny field, she is the night wanderer, with secrets as you said, i like that.

The sunny side I think I was trying to depict love, like of nature kind. A peaceful and everlasting perserverance of life.

I think you interpeted quite interestingly. Thanks for the input.

Hey IAmD1, havent seen you in a while.

I have seen Caveman's art, it is simply breathtaking. I love the pic you provided, one of my favourite pieces by him.

With you description, does that relate to anything in your life?

Or is it just your interpretation?

In answer to your question - That's up for interpretation

To Caveman - I'm glad you found it interesting - Thanks for sharing your art with us.

Yes Darcon, them three songs did not help the cause.Maybe because I am not 'all loved up'at the minute.

Back on the topic.I have always loved Roger deans work.Since the early seventies he has painted album covers for the band Yes.He has is own unmistakable style just like Dali.

Yes, very neat. I myself love Dali, and these pieces do have a certain quality about them, that relate to Dali.

Here's a closeup of the woman if you're interested:

img299.imageshack.us...
It kind of gives you a more personal feel about her.

The small picture gives you an idea of whats goin' on but the woman itself I worked on for several hours of tiny brush strokes, trying to paint a perfect goddess.

Whenever I make a picture I usually paint one or 2 things with fine detail I wish I could show, thinking of adding little closeup boxes on top of my paintings.
