Lilith? First wife of Adam?

Hey folks. I was watching television last nite about Adam and Eve and the creation of the world. It made mention of a wife prior to Eve known as Lilith. She is mentioned in the dead sea scrolls which, correct me if I'm wrong, are not welcomed by the Roman Catholic Church. Do you think she could have really been the first wife to Adam?
