What was that famous one-liner about the Battle of the Bulge? I'm still in suspense.

Nuts!

That was the famous one liner from the battle of the bulge. that was his reply to the Germans when asked if the Americans were ready to surrender

Nuts!

I agree the one line rule is important and sometimes I violate it with
"This is where the second line goes"
I feel that sometimes the poster has done such a great job explaining their case that few words sometimes fit the situation.

Sometimes a picture IS worth a thousand words and it pains me to change what would have been an eloquent proof or disproof into an overly worded and clumsy reply. When I am writing in earnest my mantra is "simplify, simplify" or "keep it simple stikki". I understand the rule and I understand the objections to the rule. In the ever important world of ATS points I hope my stars of approval balance out my shameful demerits.

BTW: WHAT'S UP WITH THE ALL CAPS RULE?
kthxbye

Alot of times if I try to get to wordy I force it and it doesn't work.

But I do understand the value of the overall contribution and the space we use and all!

It's considered rude.
Like your yelling at somebody in words.

Well unless your an AOL user or a "NOOB" then of course it's acceptable.
I did email and phone tech support for years and it always seemed that the AOL user more often than not typed in caps
