India Approaches US for 40,000 Cluster Bombs: NGO

Srinagar, Jan 14, KONS: In the wake of the Mumbai attacks, India has requested the United States for the sale of 40,000 cluster bombs for its arsenal.
This was disclosed by the activists of the NGO, Action Aid, in their protests against the use of landmines and cluster bombs.
Scores of Action Aid activists staged a silent demonstration at the press enclave on Wednesday morning carrying banners and placards with slogans against targeting civilian populations with bombs, and the use of landmines and cluster bombs.

40000 cluster bombs is a lot. But each one certainly does not cost 375 million USD. It is more then a 4th generation fighter jet worth.
I hope that at least India and Pakistan will not dive into arms race. Or worst.

I wonder if they've offered to pay 'extra' for pre-paid postage, addressed - Karachi, Pakistan ?

Dont believe everything you read in the papers....there is another war coming!! Some fat crooked Americans are going to make more money!! If they sold them to any non US sanctioned country they would be terroists but since it all legal..who cares.

It a very sick and corrupt world we live in!!

Nooo!!! Don't be like the Americans! Only we can use cluster bombs! Use something less horrific, that requires less condemnation! Otherwise your country looks unpopular like America.

Good, we need to sell some arms to boost our economy, just enough to pay for Obama's party and what not!
