My GFs new mac laptop was downloading an update; now it is frozen.
It won't even shut off. Keyboard won't work. Mouse still works but thats it. Help please!

try holding the power button for a while. See if that works. Trust me macs are the most reliable computers I have ever used. I've never had a virus before on it.

To restart a frozen mac,

Restart the computer by pressing the Power key or choosing Shut Down from the Special menu.

If that doesn't work, to shut down or restart the entire computer, press these keys: Command-Option-Shift-Power. All unsaved work will be lost.

To force the computer to restart, press these keys: Command-Control-Power.

If nothing else works, unplug the computer or turn off its power strip.

Thank you all. Peace and tranquility are now restored. Her laptop is operating again as it should.

The planets are once again in their proper orbit, all because of the wonderful members here at ATS/Bts, and it took less than 5min.

The mac support team has yet to call me back.

Blessings and Namaste
