Latest update .... From Zogby

Obama approval rating at % 45.3

President Barack Obama's popularity has plummeted to a record low, with just 45 percent of voters now approving of his performance, according to the latest Zogby International poll.

Asked whether they approve or disapprove of the president's job performance, just 45.3 percent of likely voters say they approve. That compares with 50.5 percent who disapprove of the job Obama is doing.

Of greatest concern to Obama may well be his decline among all-important independent voters. Just 37.5 percent of self-identified independents say they approve of how Obama is handling the presidency. That compares with 59.2 percent of independents who disapprove.

He's not at the Bush number of 34% ... but he's getting there.

38-59 among independents. Ouch. That would basically be a reversal of his win among that group in the fall. Its also roughly in line with the numbers I've seen from both Gallup and Rasmussen. The latest number I've seen from Rasmussen was on the 10th, with Obama at 42% among independents and with a 22-40 split in that group on strongly approve and strongly disapprove. Meanwhile, this Gallup poll has two separate measures for Independents; one puts him at 46, the other, 'Pure Independents', at 39. I haven't seen a detailed updated poll from either of these this week, but regardless, its not looking good.

If they weren't concerned about it before, they'd better be now. Evidence is mounting that they're bleeding support from independents at an alarming rate. Without them, the moderate Dems in Congress won't back his agenda and Obama himself could well be creating a big problem for himself looking forward to 2012.

Doesn't matter - the guy is one term wonder! All of the dumb suckers that believed the hype have obviously woken up with a really bad hang-over. They're all swearing that they won't be fooled again!

What should be really interesting are the mid-terms in 2010. I'm prediciting an absolute Democrat massacre. Somehow though I'm not too fearful of the Republicans taking over. I think we'll see a new anomoly in elections - a strong showing for independents and third-party candidates.

I agree.... New thinking and thinkers....

PALIN PALIN PALIN PALIN PALIN !!!!! and the "Joe's" of the world.

Why do you think the main stream media (leftist/liberal leaning) are constantly trying to destroy her and make her look bad? FEAR.

I am pretty sure PALIN won't go to D.C. and, oh say:

1: Get a gay lover and let him run an escort agecny service out of the public paid apartment Sen Barney Frank.

2: Get drunk and drive into a road barrier in front of the Cap Bldg (Kennedy).

3: Get a person drunk, then drive into a water source-AND TAKE OFF & NOT REPORT (another Kennedy (TED).

4: Pick up or hit on congressional pages of either sex

5: Have sex (of any type-with anyone NOT their spouse etc) in the White House or any other gov't facility.

6: Take sweet loans deals from Fanny & Freddie.

7: Have 1000's of dollars in her home freezer.

8: Having affairs with movie stars.

You got the picture. It is time for us to get "us" in there. At least she has the b@lls to get up there and try.

Sorry to have turned this into a Palin rant but take her name out and put yours in etc. Honestly, it is time for the current power elites to get the he** out.

Oh how times have changed.

Title of this thread .... Approval ratings .... Obama 71% Bush 34%
Now Obama's pretty much at the same approval rating as Bush from that time.
Gallup Obama Approval Rating

Only 44.7 percent of Americans approve of the job the president is doing in office, according to the poll conducted Oct. 14-17, down more than two percentage points from the most recent quarter. Only 39 percent of Americans now believe Obama deserves to be reelected, down from 48 percent earlier this year

Sorry that so many are disappointed. But ... at least they are waking up.

I do believe strongly that once he does start doing things…that number will drop drastically fairly quickly.

This prediction has come true.

ZOGBY Poll - Obama approval at 39%
Yep. He's pretty much at the same approval rating as Bush was when this thread was started.
When reality hit - hope and change rhetoric failed to take the place of experience and ability.

Luv the title of the first article. Kinda says it all

Obama's Approval Plunges Below Worst-Ever President Carter

President Barack Obama has one of the worst approval ratings of any president in modern political history, Paul Bedard notes in his Washington Whispers blog in US News.

Obama’s 43 percent rating in Gallup’s daily presidential job approval index today is far below Democrat Jimmy Carter’s 51 percent at the same point in his presidency. Carter has been considered one of the 20th century’s worst presidents, according to the index.

US News / Politics Section

What's more, Gallup finds that Obama's overall job approval rating so far has averaged 49 percent. Only three former presidents have had a worse average rating at this stage: Carter, Ford, and Harry S. Truman. Only Truman won re-election in an anti-Congress campaign that Obama's team is using as a model.

Rasmussen Daily POTUS tracking

Nineteen percent (19%) have a favorable opinion of Attorney General Eric Holder while 43% offer a negative review.

Who in their right mind actually approves of Eric Holder?
That 19% have a favorable opinion is a freakishly high number considering who the guy is and what he's been up to.

The latest ...
March 2012 - New York Times poll
Obama approval rating at 41%. His disapproval rating is 47%.
80% of Americans say they are NOT better off now than they were four years ago.

I was curious as to what having scandal after scandal would do to the rating ...

Obama Approval Rating - Iowa Numbers

President Barack Obama's disapproval rating in Iowa has risen to 54 percent, the highest level since he took office, according to a Des Moines Register poll.

Meanwhile, his approval rating stands at only 41 percent, down from 49 percent in February and 68 percent when he took office in January 2009.

60% of Iowans think the country is on the wrong track.
Other polls put the approval rating at 45% nationwide
I'm wondering if that 45% bother to educate themselves on what is going on.
I can't believe that his numbers are still in the 40% ...

I guess there are some die-hard Obama people out there ....
