I keep seeing top news articles about the hundreds of millions of dollars that the government will be giving to stimulate the economy. Are we (the normal working taxpayers) going to get a stimulus check this year? I can def. use the money to pay off some bills (shhhhh)!!

Oh ya you bet..about 300 or if your lucky maybe 600 bucks of the 850 billion. Ya it will really help everyone recover.

Since most states are hurting...expect to lose that anyway....either way...it's still has to be paid back.

If u are single it's 500 tax break...1000 for couples unless it has changed....so expect 10 to 20 dollars extra a week. You won't receive a check in the mail. This will be added directly to your paycheck.

Don't spend it all in one place.

Exactly. And then the taxpayers, and our children, will end up footing the bill. I appreciate the effort but this doesn't sound like the best idea.

An extra 70ish dollars withheld per month from my check is really gonna get me to go shopping! Not!

The Congress voted way back when to give themselves an automatic raise each year. The reason is that the yearly raise would not have to come up for a vote on the floor each year because of it being to political.

Now you see Congress gets their stimulus money raises yearly regardless, and for we peons we are last in line to get ours because of the special interest groups. Let me ask you a question if your Senator or Congressman or Congresswoman is doing a bad job and not representing We The People do they deserve a raise? If you did not do your job would you get a raise or would you be fired? Barney Franks heading up the banking committee why is he still there since Trillions of dollars have been lost on his watch? Democrat or Republican if they are not doing the job they were elected too remove them from office.

Who got the stimulus money first you guest it the banks and they set on the money. Again We The People are last to be represented, but easy targets to be taken advantage of by the people that represent us.

Did you realize that the top 25% of the income earners pay 84% of all taxes to the IRS. That leaves close to 50% of the population that does not pay taxes and is that fair? Oh I forgot we have become a socialist nation.

The problem is that the 50% of people recieving the stimulus checks of $600 did not pay one red cent in taxes. This is a form of welfare taking from the rich or middle class the real tax payers and giving to the poor. I am all for helping the poor but not being mandated by a government.
