It's an injustice to NOT marry girls aged 10, says Saudi cleric

www.dailymail .co.uk
Saudi Arabia's most senior Muslim cleric has been quoted as saying it is 'okay' for 10-year-old girls to marry.
A female who is 10 or 12 is marriageable and those who think she's too young are wrong and are being unfair to her,' he said during a Monday lecture, according to the pan-Arab Al-Hayat newspaper.

You're missing my point. There are dozens of Muslim led contries. If Saudi Arabia is the only country practicing this it is unfair and inaccurate to label these people just "Muslim". It taints the rest that don't practice this.

This happens with more than just Muslims so can we just remember that, before the discussion goes further.

How do we know every 10 year that is getting married is having sex also ? We don't

This has been going on for thousands of years what has changed in humanity for people to get married later. Lets say 4-5000 years ago people only lived to like their late 20's when did they get married why was it right then and not now regardless of increases in life expectancies; humans haven't changed that much were playing the same game with new weapons.

I recall people getting married at 13 and 14 in the US really up until the 1930's; how old were the natives when they got married, how old were the slaves when they had sex willingly ? All cultures have did it at some point so to blast someone else for doing the same is wrong.

Well we are not talking about a remote tribe here we are talking about High Clerics here that dictate law and people follow ,

I recall people getting there head bashed in in the 60s and 70s by there parents when they did something wrong too... and we dont have that anymore , should we bring back child abuse cause you remember it , or think a culture has had it around long enough, Lets smoke pot and beat our kisa again then
