Global Warming - Yeah right! [SNIP]!

<<  1    2  >>

Topic started on 14-1-2009 @ 07:45 AM by TortoiseKweek

Ok, I'm tired of this global warming story! There has been some evidence that other planets are also warming in the universe, without human interaction:

seoblackhat.com...
www.timesonline.co.uk...

Now, I'm no scientist, but I trust my gut feel, instinct, and senses. Look at this and tell me what you think:

www.accuweather.com...:45
Go to www.weather.com, and check out Chicago - Coldest in 10 to 15 years! [SNIP] - It's - 22Degrees Celsius here in Toronto this morning, and feels like -29!

I'm sorry, I've seen points on both sides of the argument, and I just can not accept the global warming "theory" when I see and "Feel' This kind of cold. My feeling is that this is to create a global CO2 tax, and once again screw the public into paying another "Sin Tax", as they do with alcohol and cigarettes. Don't even get me started with petrol/gas taxes!

Exactly. For weeks the weather where I live has been below zero, blowing snow and blizzards about once a week. I had to buy a $300 snowblower just to get to my car so I could go to work. Anybody who still believes in 'global warming' is more than welcome to come and shovel the 'global warming' (I mean snow) off my driveway.

I pretty much agree with you. It would seem that if it was really getting hotter that we would see a steady increase of temps worldwide, but that is not the case.

Some scientists who disregard the whole global warming circus(yes, I said that) say it is the magnetic fields variation which contributes to the changes we see.

Makes more sense to me indeed.

No offense to anyone in particular, but why is it that people point to cold weather and find that sufficient to debunk global 'warming'?

I would have thought by now there were an adequate number of threads in this forum pointing to science that persuasively closes the book on the fact of global climate change.

If you're going to sneer at the issue, then at least narrow your sights on the causation issue. It, at least, is wide open to reasonable criticism.

...and if you really want to impress, debate the issue of mitigation policy. That's where the real fruit and nuts are...

Oh, well. It's why I almost never comment in GW threads anymore....

*sigh*

I know that "global warming" you have to shovel, it's a real pain. Good for you that you got that snow blower, that helps out big time! Don't know where you live, but I'm thinking you may be in Canada. And it has been pretty nuts here man.

Last year we had a lot of snow, this year seems to be the same but a LOT colder! I REALLY feel so sorry for all the homeless people out there. I hope they find some shelter until the end of the weekend to see through this. Maybe Al Gore should explain to them how this "Global Warming" is helping them - yes, my sarcasm at it's best!

Global Warming was debunked for me as soon as Al Gore made that movie.

Come now. He is on the !@#$ Trilateral Commission people!

I could think where he should put that Nobel Peace Prize. Ha!

Uhmm, so what are we supposed to point to - "Science Facts" Those are not facts. NASA has recently found a large "ringing" from an area in the universe, that they can not explain, and solar flares have been real erratic. If memory serves me correct we went for over 1 month without any, which last happened something like over 100 years (This from memory, so maybe I'm off on some figures)

What I'm saying here, is that we really do not Know for SURE what is happening. I'm only formulating my own opinion, and expressing it, not trying to be sensational or anything like that!

And no offense to you, "but why is it that people point to warm weather and find that sufficient to SUPPORT global 'warming'?"

I usually steer clear of these threads too loam, but once in awhile I pop in to see if there is anything new. I have yet to find any evidence to persuade me that rapid climate change spurred on by mans activities is not a real concern. The evidence of human degredation of the planet is seriously mounting if one cares to look.

I agree with you 100% that mans influence is hurting this planet! Just look at all the plastic in the Pacific ocean - Not good at all for all of us. The oceans are seriously polluted, fish are being affected, and chemicals are changing sexuality in some of them (estrogen run off etc)

I'm just finding it hard to believe Global warming. I'm not here to argue and fight with anyone, I'm just expressing what I see and feel, and that's my opinion. No science can convince me otherwise, to what I see and Feel. That's just me

All those global warming dudes should come live in Canada for a few yrs.
Time for a hot toddie!!!

I do not think I have ever heard anyone who does not blame global warming, mainly CO2 emissions, that also thinks humanity as a whole does not hurt the planet.

Anyone who thinks we do not cause a problem is indeed off their rocker!

You can still care about the environment without swallowing the blue pill.

This has probably been posted many times on ATS, but I'd suggest people check out the documentary 'The Great Global Warming Swindle'. That should definitely open some eyes.

I'm not an expert either, and I believe us humans shouldn't get all of the blame.
What most scientists have said, is that we are making global warming come sooner and not that we are creating it.
It's an interesting topic.
Have a nice day.

I agree with what you say. There will be enormous problems with feeding the world population (as if there isn't already) when crops fail from extended droughts in the bread basket of America and elsewhere. I don't think all of humanity can gracefully adapt fast enough to escape the threats of more severe storms, flooding and food problems. The problems are interlaced. We have to ratchet the threats to the biosphere down.

Considering other planets are exhibiting the same global warming I would assume we could safely say the human alone has no affect in the overall warming of the earth by more than .1% which is actually a high number I believe several were saying it's actually .01% when related to carbon.

All I know for fact is this is the most snow I have seen in 10 years. Last year was the most snow I had seen in 9 years. Winters are getting colder, summers here are also getting colder and we get more and more snow every year. Had 4 blizzards at my house in the past 30 days. First time that's happened sense I've been here. Every year gets worse.

It's only a matter of time before they start the whole ice age scare like they did in the 70's.

It's just a bunch of uneducated people educating the masses with voodoo science, of course the thermometer over the black top or under the tin roof is going to be a good 10-20 degree's higher on an already hot day. Any farmer seeing the results and how they were obtained would tell you it makes sense and has nothing to do with global warming. Why do you think they stopped building tin sheds and went back to wood?

Soylent Green

Why, in my day, you could buy meat anywhere! Eggs they had, real butter! Fresh lettuce in the stores.

It's people. Soylent Green is made out of people. They're making our food out of people. Next thing they'll be breeding us like cattle for food. You've gotta tell them. You've gotta tell them!
