If you are in the USA you can get a decent Gen 3 night scope for about $1500.00 (new).

There are plenty of ways to make night vision devices for under $100.00 but they are all active devices (emit near infra red light) so they only work for distances of around 100 feet and unlike the image intensifiers found in night scopes they have a minimum sensitivity that does not compete with the human eye.

Ok. I now have some test footage from the main imager on my system. I would like to upload it onto the ATS media portal but will it compress the file? Is there a preferable service that will not degrade the footage?
