I'm pretty sure that I didn't write any where in my post, the reason why you voted for him but I'm man enough to admit when I've made a mistake so if you can show me where I wrote why you voted for him, I will apologize. My point is that was using change as a reason to elect him and so did Bush.
I think it is extremely narrow minded of people to be so defensive of Obama and so loyal to him even though, he has not done anything as of yet to earn that loyalty and respect. I think both sides need to keep an open mind until he is in office and we see what he does or does not do. Until then everyone should try to keep themselves informed about all that is going on so that IF he does show to be the same, then no one will be surprised or more importantly; blinded by any unwarranted loyalties. It's great to HOPE he is going to be different but let him prove it first. I think it's better to be critical of him and be proven wrong by him rather than the alternative which is to blindly follow him and then to find out that he's no better than Bush.
He's not even in office yet and he's saying that he's going to need to scale back promises. It's one thing to commit to something, it's another to actually do it.

The governement can't even run Medicare and Medicaid. What makes them think they can run all of the healthcare industry. Whatever. I knew Obama couldntt do that... however, I still think he was the best choice.

I went over my college transcripts and there are fields them that indicate what my citizenship is as well as what grants, scholarships, and financial aid if any, I received during my education there.
I am sure that grad schools would have similar information on their transcripts as well.

Thank God Obama is scaling back. I didnt vote for him because if you start adding all his ideas that got him elected it doesnt take long to realize that it would bankrupt the country. So far he has picked fairly moderate people and been scaling back his promise to communize us. I dont think it is the job of the government to feed us, give us healthcare, or make our lives easier. I only hope he eventually gets to the point of reasoning that the only way to truly help our country is to scale back the size and cost of the government so we can compete with the rest of the world.

Why exactly did you vote for him then? He made these campaign promises and ran on the ambiguous "HOPE" and "CHANGE." So he promised all these changes to get us out of the economical crisis we are in now (that he is one of the people responsible for it), and now he says he can’t do it? Well what exactly did he get voted for? It certainly wasn't his experience. Don’t forget that into 2006 all the major economists said the economy was "better than ever" it didn't turn to a burning pile of crap until the democrats took over the senate. He hasn't even gotten into office and he is already reneging. But, like you said, if we paid any attention to him at all we would have seen that in his very short political career that he has nothing but experience in making promises he has no intention of keeping.

I’m pretty sure I know why he got voted in. the liberal press has fired a relentless barrage of BS at bush, 99% of witch is apocryphal, if not wildly inaccurate. I think w has done a fantastic job, he may not be the brightest bulb, but he is smart enough to listen to his advisers and make the hard choices. What’s more he does what he says and says what he does. He hasn't made any promises that weren't kept. And he has made the unpopular choices even in the face of the ill-informed public outcry.

That... and he's black. I’m not scared to say it. I’m not a racist and yes I think that it is a wondrous event. But I think that we rushed to make this wonderful thing happen without taking a look at who the person really was. The American public is sheep to the liberal media. And we seem to have forgotten that a man's worth should be the weight of his actions, not his words.

I don't think that he could do anything to turn people against him for a while, the press has deified him. We will see what happens.

Tax Cuts: Who'd have even thought?

Individual Tax Cuts are clearly a conservative approach. How can one maintain the illusion of being a good Democratic Liberal and still support individual tax cuts?

1.Although small, individual tax cuts allow a taste of freedom to those who have been responsible for themselves and their actions, those who have planned ahead, those who have decided to take charge of their own needs and the needs of their families. This clearly does not fit in with the long range plans of the Democrats and the N.W.O. mentality they espouse.

2.Individual tax cuts clearly undermine the immense Social Safety Net we have built for everyone but those who truly need it when disaster strikes (personal or otherwise) . ( Who will pay for mortgages for single mothers with part-time jobs? How will we enroll and pay benefits to homeless addicts? Who will represent those who have been held down by society and are now trying to re-enter the work force when they need make-overs and new clothes ? Those that choose not to work still need big screen TV's, free health care, “choice” and a voice in Washington don't they?)

3.Individual tax cuts, using the last 2 episodes of the same as a predictor, are often used to reduce debt or committed to savings. (We can't allow this to happen, dependence on social programs is reduced when citizens do this! We must support Perpetuation of the Bureaucracy !)

Business Tax Cuts are beyond a conservative approach, this is trickle-down economics!

1.Big business should clearly understood to be evil ( think in terms of Perpetuation of the Bureaucracy)

2.If business thrives ...the unanointed will be working hard, getting ahead and planning for their own futures … they will no longer be reliant on Government Handouts. ( How will we buy votes through promises of wealth redistribution? )

3.See items 1,2,and 3 under Individual Tax Cuts above.

What astounds me is the “quietness” of the ever needy body of liberal voters. They have a lot to loose if they don't speak up soon!

I agree that broken promises are common to politicians. However, I believe that the massive and lengthy Obamadrama that followed the entire campaign has lead to his current criticism. Not to mention, the press conferences with the bogus "Office of the President- Elect" emblem.

The Obama masses have been so impatient and eager to get Bush out of office that they have treated Obama as their virtual president ever since the election. This behavior just added even more pressure on Obama to deliver on his promises.

To much hype will only set you up for disappointment. I feel this way about the Super Bowl every year. All hype and typically a lame game. I'm not holding my breath this year either.

You realize that Conservatism doesn't just refer to the economy? I think most liberals are probably fiscally conservative (more so than most "conservatives").

Oh, and I disagree about giving businesses a break right now is trickle-down economics. Right now, it's just trying to keep businesses afloat, not pass money down to the consumer through extra profits and larger bottom line.
