So far, that's what I voted for. I don't know how people who didn't vote for Obama to begin with can tell me the reasons why I voted for him (and everyone else who did also).

It's unbelievably egotistical.

Can you show me where I said why you voted for obama? I'm pretty sure that I didn't write any where in my post, the reason why you voted for him but I'm man enough to admit when I've made a mistake so if you can show me where I wrote why you voted for him, I will apologize. Can you same the same if you can not?

My point is that was using change as a reason to elect him and so did Bush.
I think it is extremely narrow minded of people to be so defensive of Obama and so loyal to him even though, he has not done anything as of yet to earn that loyalty and respect. I think both sides need to keep an open mind until he is in office and we see what he does or does not do. Until then everyone should try to keep themselves informed about all that is going on so that IF he does show to be the same, then no one will be surprised or more importantly; blinded by any unwarranted loyalties. It's great to HOPE he is going to be different but let him prove it first. I think it's better to be critical of him and be proven wrong by him rather than the alternative which is to blindly follow him and then to find out that he's no better than Bush.
He's not even in office yet and he's saying that he's going to need to scale back promises. It's one thing to commit to something, it's another to actually do it.

edit to add.

The governement can't even run Medicare and Medicaid. What makes them think they can run all of the healthcare industry. Whatever. I knew Obama couldntt do that... however, I still think he was the best choice.

Some of that post was mixed with a reply to the other poster right before me and I just never added him in. My fault.

He actually said:

“I want to be realistic here, not everything that we talked about during the campaign are we going to be able to do on the pace we had hoped,” Obama said in an interview on ABC’s “This Week” program broadcast this morning.

This does not surprise me at all. In fact, he warned of this possibility before the election. I guess some of you weren't listening. I was.

It was the lagging economy and the promises to improve it that got him elected

Actually, McCain promised to improve the economy, too. So, I'm not buying that Obama's promise to improve the economy is what got him elected.

I believe Obama will aim for that one in his second term.

It's possible. Or in a couple years. This is not a surprise to me. He said the same, himself.

Good Luck everybody!! Batten down the hatches we are in for a bumpy ride.

You got that right! It's been coming for a few years now, and we've predicted it here on ATS, no matter who was our next president. It's good that everyone's realizing that.

Is Anyone other than Obama himself surprised by this?

I don't think he's surprised either.
As I said above, he warned of it before he was elected.

You are mistaken. What makes you think we didn't see the writing on the wall the same as you did? Especially when he spoke about it himself...

I think you guys would love to see people turning against Obama in droves, but I think you're going to be disappointed. Don't forget, we were listening to his speeches, reading his website. Many of you weren't. That's probably why this is such a shock to you.

Good luck coming to terms with it.

I love the way you keep turning this thing around Heretic.

WE GOT A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN AS A PRESIDENT! ONE The Media, The SAME Media all you have been complaining has tried to control the News is the same socialist liberal media that got the most unqualified, un-tested inexperienced rookie of a candidate for President than any time in history during the worst economy in history and I have said that throughout this entire election, INCLUDING but not limited to his efforts to assist in keeping fannie and freddie from being corrected for the fraud they were committing while he kept McCain's bill to correct it in commitee.

This is the same Obama that took the second largest campaign contributions from these same concerns fannie and freddie LONG before this "revelation" !

This is the SAME Obama that hired Franklin Raines after he gbot fired from his position these same concerns LONG before this Revelation!

This is the SAME Obama that blamed McCain for the economy criticizing Bush for the first bailout numbers while he came out with one BILLIONS higher!

Not really, though. Because if his supporters were listening closely to him, they should be aware of the precarious position the country was and is in. I know I'm not shocked to hear that some of the programs won't manifest in the first year or even the first term. I'm not "stunned" at ALL. In fact, read the thread. The only ones who seem shocked are his (and our) critics.

We were listening all right and it was THAT we listened, we all knew this was NOT the guy for the job! So don't give us this BS that it is US that are stunned as the word you use for it because you can't tell the difference between someone who is facetious and someone who is not.

No he didn't warn us the way YOU say he did, he NEVER said "all my promises are going to be scaled back folks so if they are don't be surprised. He did it in more subtle ways like WHEN HE RENNEGED ON CAMPAIGN FINANCE with McCain

He did it again when he told us his would be a more TRANSPARENT administration and to this day

His Occidental transcript = SEALED AND WHY? it had his place of birth in one of the fields

His roomates at Occidental = SEALED AND WHY?They might say where Obama has said he was really born. So far many claim they were his roomates some say he was born in kenya those that checked out were muslim

His Columbia U. Transcript = SEALED AND WHY? it had his place of birth in one of the fields

His Columbia U. Thesis = SEALED AND WHY? No one knows but it is rumored to have had some comments disparaging whites. This wouldn't surprise me given Obama's 20 years of Hate white people indoctrination given by Jeremiah Wright

His Harvard Law transcript = SEALED AND WHY? it had his place of birth in one of the fields

His articles for Harvard Law Review = Socialist and Communist ideals written about now cannot be seen

His financing for college & law school = We know now, his friendship with an Arab Billionare financed this and more.

His source of substantial funds to travel to Indonesia,Pakistan, Kenya while a student

His association with Rezko, Broadway Bank = This one is obvious

His voting record in IL senate, including the “present” votes = was the best indicator of how extreme this radical is

His voting record in US Senate = was the best indicator of how extreme this radical is

Bills he introduced under his name in IL and in US Senate = was the best indicator of how extreme this radical is

Identification of millions of dollars of donations clearly in violation of election law and from foreign countries

Documents sealed in Kenya ( Gee what could they have on him?)

His passport records are also sealed = SEALED AND WHY? it had his place of birth in one of the fields

I went over my college transcripts and there are fields them that indicate what my citizenship is as well as what grants, scholarships, and financial aid if any, I received during my education there.
I am sure that grad schools would have similar information on their transcripts as well.

President George W. Bush, and presidential contenders Al Gore and John Kerry, all released their college transcripts.

Obama has not agreed to the release of his application to the Illinois state bar, which would clear up allegations that his application to the bar was deliberately inaccurate. unwillingness to release records related to clients he represented while he was an attorney with the Chicago law firm of Davis, Miner, Barnhill, and Gallard. Obama was required to list his clients during his years in the Illinois senate. “Obama listed every client for the entire firm like a smart ass so no one ” could possibly discern which clients he represented.

Typical of someone who has something to hide

Tony The Raketeer Rezko was one we know about but this only tells me their are a lot more we don't know about according to the cock roach theory and Obama is a cock roach.

When it comes to offering the public documents about his own activities, Obama’s records are all sealed with about three law firms making sure it stays that way. So this is why I know for a fact that mick, that YOU voted for a complete stranger, someone you know not a damn thing about. This says to me that what you know about Obama, and the total lack and disregard of pertinent information required to even BEGIN to qualify this person, is of absolutley no importance to you. The ONLY thing YOU cared about is that the SOB got elected. You are no different than anyone else that voted for someone because he was tall dark and I suppose to you, he is handsome.

Bottom line: You and Mick, are no different than those finger filing, bubblegum chewing, bimbosapiennes known as "Obama Girls" on MS.Magazine

In fact, everything we see in the below video could have been better represented had they just asked you, but for now we will have to settle for this version of how Obama got elected

I took the rest of the night off to clear my head.

After reading the rest of this horrible thread, I have come to the conclusion that those... STILL in favor of Obama are infact .. .the dumbest people on the planet.

Everything about this guy is sealed and stashed away and you still press on.

It comes down to the fear tactics from terrorists. Yes I said it ... Terrorists.

If they cannot defeat the US with brute force.. the only other option they have is from behind enemy lines.

Thank God Obama is scaling back. I didnt vote for him because if you start adding all his ideas that got him elected it doesnt take long to realize that it would bankrupt the country. So far he has picked fairly moderate people and been scaling back his promise to communize us. I dont think it is the job of the government to feed us, give us healthcare, or make our lives easier. I only hope he eventually gets to the point of reasoning that the only way to truly help our country is to scale back the size and cost of the government so we can compete with the rest of the world.

Why exactly did you vote for him then? He made these campaign promises and ran on the ambiguous "HOPE" and "CHANGE." So he promised all these changes to get us out of the economical crisis we are in now (that he is one of the people responsible for it), and now he says he can’t do it? Well what exactly did he get voted for? It certainly wasn't his experience. Don’t forget that into 2006 all the major economists said the economy was "better than ever" it didn't turn to a burning pile of crap until the democrats took over the senate. He hasn't even gotten into office and he is already reneging. But, like you said, if we paid any attention to him at all we would have seen that in his very short political career that he has nothing but experience in making promises he has no intention of keeping.

I’m pretty sure I know why he got voted in. the liberal press has fired a relentless barrage of BS at bush, 99% of witch is apocryphal, if not wildly inaccurate. I think w has done a fantastic job, he may not be the brightest bulb, but he is smart enough to listen to his advisers and make the hard choices. What’s more he does what he says and says what he does. He hasn't made any promises that weren't kept. And he has made the unpopular choices even in the face of the ill-informed public outcry.

That... and he's black. I’m not scared to say it. I’m not a racist and yes I think that it is a wondrous event. But I think that we rushed to make this wonderful thing happen without taking a look at who the person really was. The American public is sheep to the liberal media. And we seem to have forgotten that a man's worth should be the weight of his actions, not his words.

I don't think that he could do anything to turn people against him for a while, the press has deified him. We will see what happens.

But people remember, Hitler was a truly inspirational speaker as well.

9 11= we will not forget.
Yes we can. YES WE DID.

I couldn't have said it better and the description you gave is THE ONLY description that fits these pathetically stupid individuals.

Because they were so arrogant not listening to a damn thing, not common sense not facts not the suspicious clues that comming fourth about this radical maniac, every other week, I think they should be held personally responsible as insurrectionists that if this wasn't a free country ought to be jailed for being ignorant accomplices.

All unknowing agents in a conspiracy for change.

Exactly. I'm encouraged by this. Maybe by turning back on his promises he means turning his back on gigantic state centric socialism. Maybe even it means reigning in out of control globalism and so called 'free' trade.

I believe he already schooled you my friend.

Obama is the same tool, mouthpiece, lying sack of human waste that every other president has been for the last 30 years. The only reason he stands out and got elected was cause he was black. Bleeding heart liberal whites had to show that they were so "unracist" that they HAD to get a black man in the white house. Screw Obama, screw the US Government, and even screw the voters that got this arrogant ass clown in.

guys this should be no surprise to any of us really...since when have candidates running for election actually kept ALL the promises which they promised during the lead up to the election. Never.

So far Obama has adopted a conservative stance in his approach to the current financial problems the nation faces.

It is almost as though Obama got a copy of the Republican Play Book.

Tax Cuts: Who'd have even thought?

Individual Tax Cuts are clearly a conservative approach. How can one maintain the illusion of being a good Democratic Liberal and still support individual tax cuts?

1.Although small, individual tax cuts allow a taste of freedom to those who have been responsible for themselves and their actions, those who have planned ahead, those who have decided to take charge of their own needs and the needs of their families. This clearly does not fit in with the long range plans of the Democrats and the N.W.O. mentality they espouse.

2.Individual tax cuts clearly undermine the immense Social Safety Net we have built for everyone but those who truly need it when disaster strikes (personal or otherwise) . ( Who will pay for mortgages for single mothers with part-time jobs? How will we enroll and pay benefits to homeless addicts? Who will represent those who have been held down by society and are now trying to re-enter the work force when they need make-overs and new clothes ? Those that choose not to work still need big screen TV's, free health care, “choice” and a voice in Washington don't they?)

3.Individual tax cuts, using the last 2 episodes of the same as a predictor, are often used to reduce debt or committed to savings. (We can't allow this to happen, dependence on social programs is reduced when citizens do this! We must support Perpetuation of the Bureaucracy !)

Business Tax Cuts are beyond a conservative approach, this is trickle-down economics!

1.Big business should clearly understood to be evil ( think in terms of Perpetuation of the Bureaucracy)

2.If business thrives ...the unanointed will be working hard, getting ahead and planning for their own futures … they will no longer be reliant on Government Handouts. ( How will we buy votes through promises of wealth redistribution? )

3.See items 1,2,and 3 under Individual Tax Cuts above.

What astounds me is the “quietness” of the ever needy body of liberal voters. They have a lot to loose if they don't speak up soon!

I agree that broken promises are common to politicians. However, I believe that the massive and lengthy Obamadrama that followed the entire campaign has lead to his current criticism. Not to mention, the press conferences with the bogus "Office of the President- Elect" emblem.

The Obama masses have been so impatient and eager to get Bush out of office that they have treated Obama as their virtual president ever since the election. This behavior just added even more pressure on Obama to deliver on his promises.

To much hype will only set you up for disappointment. I feel this way about the Super Bowl every year. All hype and typically a lame game. I'm not holding my breath this year either.

You realize that Conservatism doesn't just refer to the economy? I think most liberals are probably fiscally conservative (more so than most "conservatives").

Oh, and I disagree about giving businesses a break right now is trickle-down economics. Right now, it's just trying to keep businesses afloat, not pass money down to the consumer through extra profits and larger bottom line.

Not sure where you get your information from.
