Revolution, I've heard people talk about for years. The White Nationalists, the Black Nationalists, La Raza, the Leftist, the Socialists, the Communists, the Anarchists, the Conservatives, the Liberals, and the guy that does my wife's hair.

And after years of listening, wondering, and yes, even imagining a revolution, I have come the conclusion, there will not be one in my lifetime or the lifetime of my children.

Americans wax nostalgic for the days of Payne, Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, and Henry, but as is always the wanting is so much better than what it takes to have your hearts desires.

The corporations abuse, we do nothing. The police abuse us, we do nothing. The government abuses us, we do nothing. The criminals abuse us, we do nothing. Why? Because it takes brains, guts, and resolve to leave the comfort of our four walls, regardless of how squalid or lavish, and step out in the streets and do something.

The last generation to do anything were the Hippies. Second rate free love, peacenik shadows of true revolutionaries. To cowardly to fight abroad, but even more so to fight at home.

Their legacy is a legacy of talk, talk, talk, and zero, absolutely zero, action! To standby while your neighbors are forced out into the streets by greedy Wall Street tycoons while they dip their gnarled hands in your pockets is nothing short of cowardice of the first order.

We, yes myself as well, are all cowards. Weakened by luxury and made slaves by the baubles of lifestyle.

So, keep up the good work America, keep arguing about who is more patriotic, who has made more sacrifices. And when they outright enslave your children and grandchildren just sit back and watch American Idol.

Your right, with the way things are going now, we won't ever see the kind of revolution we need to get this country back on track.

It would take another HUGE world event to force the people to wake up, such as a draft for WW3...if that were to happen, more than half the population would stand against the decisions of they're government and revolt against the war.

IMO

I am not so sure you are right.

Ohio unorganized militia warns of coming 2nd civil war

Of course they could have gone to speak to congress about the
militia movement just to give them a kind "heads up" if you will.

Then again, maybe not.

"Occasionally, the tree of liberty needs to be shaken with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Thomas Jefferson

It is only a matter of time before there is widespread revolt on US soil. This is the logical progression of social evolution. The only time a government is kind to its populace is just after you have kicked their asses.
Inevitably, that kindness is replaced by corrupted people who use propaganda to gain more and more power. Pretty soon, they have unintentionally created a situation where their lies necessitate even MORE lies to keep their corruption from becoming exposed. To the point that they create slaves out of their people... But then they have just bitten the hand that feeds them. And they get their asses kicked.
It is my opinion that we will see such an event in the not too distant future. Stay tuned.

And on the matter of the hippies. While their intentions were good, their failure to follow up on their actions became an exploited weakness and much of what we see today happened on their watch. They failed. Epic fail.
But it will correct itself, it always does. I just wish we could stop the cycle. Alas, it appears to be human nature to abuse power, though. Nothing short of Plato's Republic would suffice. However, that system would be so hard fought to put in place and we would need a MAJOR consciousness shift before it was even attempted.

We are a nation of over 300 million people, yet we are ruled controlled by a group of politicians that number less than 1,000.

The real power is not in Washington, DC. It is in our hands. Time to realize that and use the tools we have at our disposal to force changes that we want.

Most people have the wrong mindset. Most are still waiting for the government to fix things for them.

I'd love to see some "real change." Unfortunately most don't care yet....but anything is possible.

I don't think it will take "one" nasty event to change things....it will take many things. As things continually get worse and more people are affected by our governments greed and shortfalls....then we'll see more anger...more proponents for change.

We aren't there yet. I think we will be though. Angst and anger is growing.

Myself...i can't wait to see it....seeing people think for themselves and not letting others do it for them.... To teach themselves instead of letting the establishment shape their opinions.....i highly anticipate the day when the tide finally turns.

All we need is a real, all encompassing, all crippling, catalystic event to trigger the 2nd American Revolution. (By event i mean some crazy tax or maybe collapse of the dollar or trying to force the NAU on us. Something unreasonable in the eyes of the average American.) We are much closer than many realise to all out revolt. If you read about the French Revolution, those people went through way more hardships then what we are going through right now. The fact that you keep hearing people talking about revolution is a testament to the sentiment of the people of this nation.

We are tired but still have hope that things will improve. That is why no one has started any major pushes for restructuring the government. Its amazing how little the average worker asks for but gets the run-around trying to get it while CEOs spend hundreds of thousands of parties that have no purpose. With electing Obama as President people rode the "Change" wave with hope that he will help the people out and make it easier for the people that make this nation what it is. But, if he doesn't do as he said, "Change", there will be a lot of pissed off, disenchanted, and most important of all awakened, people to see that nothing will change.

The fact that the voter turnout in the last election was the highest in decades is more proof of how fed up we are. I have seen many people completely fed up with whats going on go out to vote, changing things through the vote is easiest way to change things...

"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it". - Abraham Lincoln

Voting is the first step, use the system to beat the system, if that doesn't work, get your guns and burn the world. Have faith, either they will do right and listen to us to change things for the better or we will do it for ourselves.

Any further slide down the slippery slope will unfortunately be tolerated for a long, long time because of Obama's popularity. People will give him too many chances for 'change'. Before they wise up, it will be too late.

"We, yes myself as well, are all cowards. Weakened by luxury and made slaves by the baubles of lifestyle."

I couldn't agree with this statement more! Society, today, is kind of pathetic! but the thing about it is, when we lose those posessions, those little materials that we view as so vital, we get kind of get pissed off about it! And with the way the economy is going, people are losing, or stand to lose, almost everything they posess. People are losing their jobs left and right, people are BURNING THEiR HOMES just so they can scrape by... It's getting out of hand, and fast! When people have nothing to lose, that's when revolutions occur.

Personally, i completely agree with you... we'll prob never do anything about it. But i really wish we would, so that i could say i was around to see it.

That is why it didn't happen during the 60's and why it hasn't happened over the last eight years, but we are on the course now.

As for Obama, people will only tolerate him so long. Bush used "terrorists", "9/11", "fear" over and over to keep people behind him(even if just remotely token support) over the last eight years, but Obama has been promising change. If it doesn't occur the faithful people will turn on him and fast with the economy the way it is and the way it is going.

The next 5-10 years will be amazing times to be alive I think.

"interesting" and "amazing" have two different meanings.

Sorry i don't mean to verbally bash or twist your words around, and i totally agree in you stating that it will be "interesting," but definately not in any pleasant kind of way.

But that is the thing about it all....
No, it will be both interesting AND amazing... We take five steps forward and one step back (now all of a sudden that paula abdul song started running through my head. opposites attract. haha!)

You see, we are in for some amazing revelations.

The world-wide web has helped bring this forward. We are a global community, in the truest since. We are soon to see mankinds finest hour!
Rejoice!
Their lies will be exposed and exterminated. They know this. They will try something grand, but to what end? To throw us backwards by 1,000 years? I doubt it. In the end, they will give in. And we will move forward.

THEY KNOW THIS AND THIS IS WHY I AM STILL HERE.

Interesting theory but revolution doesn't have to be a series of event. It can be one event, ie, aliens invadeing our airspace by the 1000s and disableing all nuclear weapons and other militant armory.

Revolution I believe will come, however in the way it will come will not be that of the people, but of the universe.

I agree we are a nation of cowards..... well 9/10 people I would say....

"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. " -declaration of independence

WAKE UP AMERICA AND GROW YOUR BALLS BACK!!!!

In no other time in history has the tyranny of despots been so equally matched by the apathy of the masses.

I wish people read DOI and got inspired, instead they just get bored.
