Bizarre delusions are a important part of the a thought disorder and a thought disorder is a component of psychosis.
While it is true that most of those with mental illnesses are not prone to violence, it is nonetheless important to take the signs of psychosis seriously and to get the sufferer of these symptoms as much help as possible, including involuntary confinement until symptoms can be eliminated, if possible.
