smarter or not, it does not matter. first of all they are not READING the Bills they are voting for or against. 99% of them is just listen to the
party leaders and that is the way they decide.
there is small number of parliament members who actually can read by themselfes. and these are the people who sometimes rise a questions.
and party leaders are under the influence of the real masters here. and this bail out cash was for them. so whta was a chance to have a different
result? there was no.

no are you? im 20 years old could I be a senator or congressman? Yes will I? 50/50 I will make a run for public office in my early 30s
Maybe by then, you'll be wiser too.
Telling people to shut up, when they have asked a simple question of you, is not the way to influence people, win friends, or get elected. It is also
a violation of the T & C at ATS.

There we go. We've found a way to save a lot of money. Instead of having 535 members of Congress, we can just have TWO, one for each party. They can
get into a boxing ring, and duke it out. Winner takes all.

Neither. I was simply asking you to abide by the T & C. If you want to act like a thug, by telling people to shut up, when everyone on this thread has
been polite, and obeyed the T & C, kindly go to some thread where you will feel more welcome, with your kind of poster, rude, and avoiding the
original question of the thread.

Of course it is. But that's where it's headed unless they start LISTENING to the American citizens. I'm not holding my breath on that.

Yes, at some point, America will reach a breaking point. Today, the unemployment figures were released -7.2%, and that doesn't include the people
whose unemployment benefits have run out, or have stopped looking for jobs. I suspect when unemployment reaches double digits in a few months, we will
be at the breaking point.

"There is no end in sight in terms of layoffs," said economist Ken Mayland, president of ClearView Economics. "January could be worse because
some companies put layoffs on hold because of holiday sensitivities." Not only are employers slashing jobs; they also are cutting workers' hours
and forcing some into part-time work. The average work week in December fell to 33.3 hours, the lowest level on records dating to 1964 -- and a sign
of more job reductions in the

How about if we get the military guards keeping us out of Congress, to keep them IN the building, just bringing them food and medical. I think they
already have a library and gym. Maybe we could 'rehabilitate' them, and try to get them to be honest enough to release back into civilian
population. Oh, and stop feeding them all our money. Dollar a day is about what I think they already pay other inmates.

I don't even think you can answer that question. If all the members of congress were actually trying to represent the people and basing their
decisions on what's best for the country, maybe you could. I think we can all agree that ATS members in general are more honest since they are able
to voice their own opinion while members of congress are usually guided by their "superiors".
Most of them are probably very intelligent people, but they don't use their intelligence to solve the country's problems. The few people who dare
speak the truth and talk about real solutions (like Ron Paul) are portrayed as nutjobs who don't know what they're talking about.

They are over worked, stressed, lazy and comfortable in their position. Why should they bother to do more than they have to? Its the same in every
organization. People lose the motivation to do their best after a while if nobody notices it.

MOST are. That's not hard to do. But considering what I've seen here in the past few months - some are just as dumb as those in Congress.

Is a part of the reason we are in the mess we are in. Groups like ACORN using intimidation to make banks give bad loans are another. Lawyers like
Obama who sued City Bank, forcing them to give affirmative action style loans to people who couldn't afford them is another. (Case Name

We are still screwed because the same people are in and they are doing the same things. The same old corruption style politics and/or the same old
people.... Caroline Kennedy walking into a senate seat for example. Same old Clintonistas and Bushies are in Washington. (NO CHANGE!) A full
cleaning of gov't would have to be done, but I don't think the Bildebergers would go for it. I think we are stuck.
Yes, that's fatalistic. But that's what I see.

Well, as our founding fathers made it, we are able to abolish our government, laws, amendments, everything. But people are too lazy and want every one
to make laws for them and stuff. I think its bogus.

I believe it is time for a march on Washington. Martin Luther King managed it. Louis Farrakan managed the million man march in Washingtion. Is
there not some leader, among the average Joe's, who can bring people together and organize an a march on Washington of the unemployed,
disenfranchised, disaffected citizens who have had it with the representative government which is no longer representative. Yes, we are smarter than
our congressmen. We are smarter, by a long shot, because we are out here in the trenches We know that we can't spend like drunken sailors, because
we have to take care of our families. We have to pay mortgages, by groceries, put gas in our cars, and oh yes, pay taxes, which pay the salaries of
the social parasites that sit on a hill looking down on the peons and thinking they have it made.
A march on Washington would make an impact. It would call attention to the fact that we know them for what they are and thae we are, as a nation,
"mad as hell, and we aren't going to take it any more."
I am confident that we could, with proper leadership, honestly get more than a million people to march on our Capital.
It's worth a shot. Or am I just rabble-rousing?
