Well, most of the time, the title of this post is true.

- What is driving me to write this? Well, I've had just about enough! Today on the metro (subway) I noticed 2 guys looking at me; the gangster wanna-be type... I heared them mutter something along the lines 'it's a girl? No, it's a guy, and they were laughing... - Now; I am a musician, I have long hair. - I also have beautiful eyes with long eyelashes that LOOKS like I'm wearing mascara, that even my X girlfriend envied.

I'm REALLY stressed these days, with the world falling into a pit of hell while everyone is concerned with the wrong things & are not even looking at the info they need to know. - I have been working on a website for 2 years, & I may not even be able to pay my internet bill, so I'm worried about not being able to update it... - So I just blew up, but I controlled myself to an extent.

I hit the chair next to me to show my disgust at their way of thinking & I glared right back at them with a look that was so cold, it could've frozen a fire.
They could have been simply immature fools, but in most cases, an expressed opposition to what people may assume to be homosexuality is due to them actually being attracted, yet they cannot admit it due to peer pressure. - I know this for a FACT. - Most of my 'strait' friends, and many people I have met wanted to have sex with me. ... So... I come to the conclusion that most people are bisexual, and get all worked up about their TRUE feelings, but like knowing about conspiracies & holding back on talking about it, they refrain from spreading the word for feear of ridicule.

I would agree. People who are homophobic should keep their thoughts to themselves. I would actually argue that people who are homophobic are no different from those who are anti-semites.

I think you're just full of yourself. Maybe those guys were attracted to you, but maybe they were just sick of the toleration and canonizing of effeminacy in men that is so common today. Maybe they really were curious as to your sex; with some people it's not obvious at a glance. Unless they were propositioning you or threatening your wellbeing, why worry at all what they think of you and your eyelashes?

I think the term 'homophobic' is a contradiction in itself.

I never met a gay guy I was ever 'scared of'

(Well, I always wondered about Mike Tyson's lisp,now THAT would be scary.
)

As for the OP ..

I'm a musician,I used to have long hair and had the same reaction from others.But I'm not gay...

So ...should I have considered them 'homophobic'?
Or just the sad sub-life they were?

And no, I'm not full of myself. - I should've added 'most of the time' to the end of the title of this post.
"toleration" ? The issue of that femine sides of people needs to come out of artificial suppression through public conditioning, & all this violence is pretty much because this world is male dominating a feminine vibe; The earth.

- I am not 'effeminite' also; I am simply being myself, and am true to myself; and not spening my time proving how bbig of a man I am by wearing jeans 15 times my size & driving a big car... I am more of a man to be not afraid to be myself, and grow my hair long like the warrior I am.
I understand there are flamers, but It's notthe case with me, and I made this thread because in the majority of cases, I am right.
In any given situation, to assume is to make an ass out of you and me, and for someone to assume soeone is gay is just as bad as me assuming they were homophobic, but I've made my point already.

All I'm saying is that just because someone doesn't like the way you look, that doesn't mean they're secretly into you. I hate the way people look all the time. I can't stand the gangsta sagging pants look, or the emo look. That does not mean I'm uncomfortable with my own wardrobe and secretly want to wear too much sparkly eyeliner or pants that are 3 sizes too big. It means I just don't like it.

Maybe in elementary school it meant that someone had a crush on you if they pulled your hair or called you a name. But if you're older than 10 it most likely means that they just don't like you.

To believe that everyone who has a negative perception of you because of your looks is subconsciously attracted to you defies common sense and really takes vanity to a new level.

All IMO of course.

someone wise (not me) said on ATS once that they disagreed with the whole...if you hate gay people it means you secretly harbour homosexual feelings. They said that was rubbish. If that were true, people who hate peadophiles secretly want to abuse children. And taking it a step further, because i hate mangoes, it must mean i secretly REALLY want to taste one.

I'm very tired and i so i'll just say i agree with sc2099 and leave it at that.

Right, and I really screwed up in the title of the post, and I forgot to elaborate on it.

My main point is: I'm TIRED OF PEOPLE JUDGING OTHERS FOR THE WAY THEY LOOK, and the thing is, it encompases the whole classification and conforming to certain groups, such as this new emo crap, and rockers and rappers, etc... When I was a teen, many people were proud to call themselves 'rappers' or 'rockers', etc... And when I was aked what I was, I responed: I'm a human being, who thinks for himself.

WELL, you know, I am not implying that... although I really screwed up with the title of this post...

I was drunk when I posted this and I will not drink and type anymore. LOL... Now; The point I wanted to make, and if a mod could pleasejust change the title to read:

" PLEASE! Stop caring about your appearance, and others. Also, I'm not gay, but most people may assume I am, & it illustrates the judgmental mentality. Usually, homophobic is congruent with an Insecurity with sexual feelings, and peer expectations, whether they be of attraction, or repulsion."

- THAT is my psychological assessment.

Now take a look at these two sentences written by yourself.
Do you not notice anything 'slightly hypocritical' about it?

You just made a judgment on an psychological/emotional level.
For some reason,you don't like the 'Emo' look...therefore it must be 'crap'

Don't get me wrong,I'm not trying to pick on you,just pointing out the fact that it is simply a human response.

Hoodies = Burglars/hidden knives/handbag snatcher/gym goer
Bling = pimps/rappers/Jimmy saville/Mr T
Ripped jeans = 80's big hair rocker/need diet
Leather = biker/whips/chains
Suits = respectable/mafia/job interview
Yellow vest,Pink shorts and rollerblades = 'Agent T's day out '

It's a psychological need to 'categorise' things,to give some kind of order to life,items,people,situations.
Only when it's pushed on to other people does it become discriminatory or 'prejudiced'.

I kinda like the emo look... But I also loved 'The Vampire Lovers' and 'Buffy the Vampire slayer'

Awww... why didn't Darla ever call me back?... :shk:

with reguards to the thread title, not the thread subject (which seem to be 2 slightly different subjects loosley interlinked) Yes, some people who are homophobic are sexually confused. but then, some people who are branded as homophobic , just don't like the act of gay sex. It turns them off, repulses them even. And that's just fine!! that doesn't make them homophobes. it just makes them straight.

As for getting stick cos of how you look. that's sh#t in anyones language. And people who do this crap, are just little pillocks who deserve nothing but contempt.

dude life's a beach if the worst thing in your life is that someone thinks your gay who cares? are your gay? if not then who cares what they think. if you are then sort out your own emotions on the subject. it doesnt really matter at the end of the day.

people are categorizing machines we love to put things into boxes and label things, its what we do, its our nature its how we understand the world. in the instance you pointed out i can understand you feeling angry at what was being said. but at the end of the day everybody is entitled to their own opinions. it may be stupid insecure or childish but how will people ever learn if they dont make mistakes.

what would be the point of existence if everybody was born perfect? and never made a mistake and everything was perfect. we define our lives by the drama within it. most people wish their lives were simple and carefree but never take steps to accomplish this. anyway my point is dont let peoples opinions get to you. we are all human for better or worse. the idea is to rise above our own imperfections not focus on other peoples. they will do that when the time is right for them.

anyway best of luck

Hahaha I'm serious.

I upset members of an old rock band because of it.
They were turning up at gigs with choppers and sports cars.

I turned up in the above mentioned outfit with rollerblades(then I hit a crisp packet at high speed and proceeded to inflict a ten inch friction burn on my left buttock.
)

Tight jeans after that was a problem.

Homophobia being related to (some degree of) homosexual desires is not unheard of. I'm bi and am fairly open about it, but I wasn't always. Before I accepted it in myself I was overly homophobic.

There has been one study done that suggested about half of homophobic guys are repressing something. If I recall, they got a swag of "strait" guys (half of whom claimed to be homophobic) and sat them individually in a both with some lude material. Lesbian porn, strait porn and gay porn. They all got aroused with the strait and lesbian material. When it came to the gay porn none of the non-phobic guys responded, but half of the homophobic guys did get aroused.

It was true for me, bound to be true for others too.

At the risk of taking this down the wrong path ..

I only watch the girl/girl stuff,coz I don't want another guy's trouser luggage to spoil my view.

I don't know what that says about my preferences.

Anyway,here comes a Mod.. Lovely weather we've been having isn't it?

Lol. Yes I am sure that is the only reason. It couldn't be that girls are beautiful so why not put two beautiful things together?

Obviously I'm not at all picky when it comes to that kinda stuff.
