AN eccentric loner hoarded so much rubbish he had to BURROW through it to get around his home — then got lost in the maze of tunnels and died of
thirst.
Absolutely amazing and disgusting. The cops found elaborate tunnels through the heap of garbage. They navigated the tunnels until they found the
body.
When cops arrived, the stench from the rubbish was so foul they brought in a police diving team equipped with breathing apparatus.

You would have thought the neighbors would have complained about the stench from the house a long time ago. House was probably rat infested as well.
Pretty sad story to see anybody living in those kind of conditions.

not rat infested,,,,in other cases like this,,, they'll have 50 cats in there with them,,,,,stinking of cat urine and poop,,,
with exterminating exp,, cat urine is way worse than rat p-ss
either way that stench you never forget
they usually find 5 or 10 cat skeletons as well
reminds me of that ,movie scene,,, it think national lampoon,,, where they find the dead cat under the couch

Wow that's shocking! And terribly sad that it went unnoticed, This poor man must have had some form of mental health issue that was not seen to.
I wonder how he appeared outside the house? so tragic that he never got the chance to be helped,

Apparently he was often seen in the neighborhood picking up bags of rubbish that he would bring back to his house. A sad story really. He had no
next of kin. I can't imagine how they will ever get his flat clean again.

I had a friend who lived under similar circumstances for a year or two. He found out he was HIV+ and so just stopped caring about anything really,
figuring he would be dead soon. Garbage was piled up about knee high throughout his apartment by the time we intervened and went in and cleaned it up
for him. We found a potato that had taken root in the carpet, and two or three mouse skeletons.
We convinced him that if he wasn’t sick yet he probably would survive quite a while, and he eventually came out of it. He apparently has a high
resistance to HIV and is still doing well.
I’m no neat freak, but I just can’t imagine living under such circumstances.
