EL PASO -- Former U.S. drug czar Barry McCaffrey contends that millions of people may rush to cross the U.S. border if security conditions worsen and lead to a governmental collapse in Mexico.

"A failure by the Mexican political system to curtail lawlessness and violence could result (in) a surge of millions of refugees crossing the U.S. border to escape the domestic misery of violence, failed economic policy, po verty, hunger, joblessness, and the mindless cruelty and injustice of a criminal

Namely that the Mexican Gov.'s battle with the drug dealers has them pushed into the interior and into provinces they were not usually occupying. As their revenue streams are drying up they are now kidnapping peasants who have relatives in the U.S. for small sums, but in great numbers.

Agreed it is highly possible that Mexico could have a collapse brought on by the growing power of the Narco State. U.S. Sherrifs in Brownsville and El Paso Texas claim the situation has been reaching critical mass for them for close to two years now as they battle the spill over on our side of the border.

Obviously U.S. planners did foresee such a possiblity when they came up with REX-84.

It's hard to tell with out government though! Obama stating today that things could get dramatically worse is not exactly dramatically encouraging!

Now this is interesting. Sounds like an excuse to implement martial law (Rex 84,etc.), that most Americans would actually be on board with. Such a influx of illegals would scare people into accepting just about anything. Of course there’s nothing accidental about any of it. The major drug cartels are all controlled by the Western intelligence agencies, and so if this happens, you can bet it’s all part of the long term globalist plan.

Definately something to consider and be on gaurd for. The preperation of the public usually does start out softly at first and then gains steam from there. We would be wise to keep our eyes on the situation to see what else might come out of the mainstream media in the days ahead.

What the hell do they think they are going to get over here?

It's true there has been a lot of reverse immigration since the housing bust of Mexicans going back to Mexico and finding a better economy there.

The powers that be love illegal immigration obviously. Not only does it keep the base wages artificially low allowing for better profits, but the IRS benefits billions from Mexicans who use made up Social Security Numbers that withholding taxes are never applied for any refund for.

In theory they would be coming to escape the increasing violence of Mexico.

In reality? Who knows what the Government might be trying to orchestrate with such an occurence.

I believe it will be a "rush" across the border alright, as Obama is offering to create millions of jobs in the infrastructure, as we know most of this jobs are done by illegal immigrants so it seems that its going to be plenty of jobs available for those coming across the border.

That is true and something I hadn't thought of. With a New Deal type of Job Program focused on Public Works that could happen. It might even be a way for the Governments to usher in a North American Union some speculate might be coming.

That's true too. Legal immigration does too! I live in South Florida and the Cuban Voting Block is one that is heavily catered too and receives a tremendous amount of attention and benefits and favoritism!

I hope Everyone sees this for what it is! Depending on who is counting there are between 15 & 30 MILLION illegals already in the USA. It was Bush who went ahead with NAFTA and decided to allow Mexican trucks full access to the USA. ICE formally the INS is unable to address the illegals that are here now. Congress and Bush have attempted to give these invaders AMNESTY of all things several times. You must be able to see how this is going to go?

To tell you the truth, as of late I have begun to have some grave concerns as to just what our Nation really was founded for. When you look at what's going on in the world right now, the multiple declared wars and undeclared wars and proxy wars we are waging as a nation and look at the 20th century history of the world, I am seeing a disturbing pattern emerge.

Where we created as to be a safety valve for other nations to relieve them of internal domestic threats from their dissafected and dissident masses, and given an elevated prosperity to further lure malcontents here...for the purpose of then in essence becoming the world's army.

We have the largest Military Industrial Complex, oceans that seperate us from every other powerful nation in the world making large scale invasions of our territory almost impossible, yet we always end up fighting the major wars and smaller ones around the world, often that don't make an impact on our way of life, but help other nations and powers.

We pay for them as tax payers and soldiers, everyone else benefits from them.

Everytime they want us to fight a huge war they collapse the economy on us, and its hard to argue against the fact that our nation's wealth, any nation's wealth is in the manufacturing of goods, that has been seemingly purposefully transfered away from us to ensure a wide spread poverty in the masses. Illegal immigration just furthers that as well, and provides many of them a chance to become a citizen through military service when wars are fought and they sign up.

You guys are concentrating on the wrong group. The influx will be coming from Central and South America, not Mexico. A friend of mine on the border says they have been getting a lot of OTM's (Other than Mexico). The OTM's say they are coming because obama had promised some kind of amnesty.

The U.S. Government predicted by 2035 Hispanics would be the majority population of the U.S., here in South Florida, white Anglo's have been a minority for going on well over a decade. While a good number of the Hispanics are from Cuba, quite a few are from Nigaruaga, Venezuella, Columbia, and Argentina. Hatians make up a huge and constantly growing portion of the immigrant population too.

I live in Southern California in the 80's and at one point the L.A. Times reported their were more Salvadorians living in the Los Angeles Area than in El Salvador.

Cities like Miami were the bulk of Hispanics are European in ancestory usually works out to them gaining political power. Places in Texas and California where the bulk of the Hispanics are mixed Indians usually results in them being an oppressed underclass.

I am Anglo and must admitt the Cubans did a stunning job of revitalizing Miami and turning it into a world class city.

The OTM's say they are coming because obama had promised some kind of amnesty. Recall those Spanish ads Obama ran slamming McCain on immigration. Around where i live, many Mexicans have packed up and went back to Mexico.

Personally I don't think Obama is done running for higher office yet!

Thanks will do! I know it's bad. The Sherrif of Brownsville claimed in an interview a year or so ago he often had to stay different places each night to sleep for his own security. Narco Violence is a real threat along the border even more so than general illegal immigration.
