UN: Israel kills driver on aid mission to Gaza
news.yahoo.com
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – A U.N. official in the Gaza Strip says Israeli forces have fired on a truck on a U.N. aid mission and killed the
driver.
U.N. spokesman Adnan Abu Hasna says the incident took place during a lull declared by Israel to allow humanitarian aid to enter the territory.
He says the U.N. coordinated the delivery with Israel, and the vehicle and was marked with a U.N. flag and insignia when it was shot in northern
Gaza.
The Israeli army said it was investigating. (visit the link for the full news article)

Now we all know about the horrible things that happen during war, well folks this is one of them, a truck driver killed while attenpting to deliver
much needed aid. Now don't confuse this incident as trying to downplay any of the human lives lost in this conflict. I bring it to light in order to
prove that war is wrong and many times innocent civilians will loose their lives in the war and become another statistic very unfortunate.

It's a war zone - not a day camp. It's a dangerous situation.
These things happen in war. The 'smoke of war' and all ...
The incident is being investigated.

who will investigate?
Israel will not let foreigners in to investigate because they do not trust them, they accuse them of being Bias.
the same excuse they gave for not allowing anyone but themselves investigate the UN school shootings

I don't think that an accurate investigation will commence, Israel will most likely write this off as an accident or at best mistaken target(s) but
in the interim it just goes to show that even those in a war zone with great humanitarian intentions sometimes fall victim to the violence, another
thing I wanted to point out is how the actual headline reads, it almost indicates intent on the part of Israel to kill this man IMO,maybe some more of
that famous MSM opinion swaying in action?

The words `IDF` and `Investigation` dont live together well
the same IDF that was accused to shooting an american dead on TV in bethlehem.
they investigated that , said `no IDF soldiers shot him` - even though the recording showed , clearly the soldier shoulder his weapon and fire - with
a full face shot of the killer
the IDF investigation said it wasn`t an IDF soildier.

Wouldn't the driver have noticed them moving close to his vehicle? or shooting close by and ran?

This is no surprise. It's the IDF which was known as "Irgun" (the terrorist organization that killed more people in a single attack than any other
terrorist attack in the M.E. by bombing the King David Hotel full of British people) in the 40s.
Irgun then was renamed to Haganah and then Haganah is now what we call the Israeli Defense Forces (aka IDF).

If the the US can mistakenly strike the Chinese Embassy during the Kosovo, one should expect Israel to mistakenly hit an innocent place or
person as well during their war. There is too much confusion for it not to happen. It is to be expected and has probably happened during every war
since the beginning of time.

It should also be noted that in killing this man, many others would suffer from the lack of aid that he was attempting to bring, Not to say he was the
only one bringing aid but how many countless lives could he have positively effected?

Correct, but these incidents should not be "written off" as " oh well, it happens" and does Israel follow the Geneva conventions?

Just to note, Israel has kept relief workers from sending aid to civilians in Palestine, by not allowing the medic staff to drive to the injured to
pick them up. Workers who were not allowed to drive ambulances were seen walking 2 km to reach the dead or injured, and then had to carry the people
back on foot to their ambulance.
Israeli snipers have also been targeting children and killing them with live ammo in the recent days.
Video is very graphic. It shows the Palestinian children with bullet hole wounds in their chest from Israeli snipers, from the recent
Israel invasion into Gaza in the past week.

Sorry. I was being sarcastic. I apologise if that was unclear.
After seeing that excuse being used to justify the killing of civilians on almost every thread regarding the conflict, then reading the part about how
it would be "investigated" which translates into "what excuse can we use for this one" that line came to mind.
I'm sick of the justification used by the pro-israelis and was just trying to make a point of how stupid it looks when someone uses such lies to mask
the truth.
Why would they let aid through when they could have prevented the need for it in the first place. These people have no morals or ethics. This isn't
war, it is cold blooded murder.

This happened during the 3hr ceasefire, not during the confusion of battle,so what reason is there for Israel to open fire on a clearly marked UN Aid
truck?
