Just pointing out that the article says the signal is measured to be six times brighter than the combined emission of all known radio sources in the universe. Not louder.

Considering nothing is faster than the speed of light. The earlier post of the bright flash a year ago is on the right track. We have already seen it we just have to match it to past events we already seen. It wouldn't be something leading to destruction in 2012.
