Do you HAVE to make a thread that is the exact opposite of another one!?!

I have seen a lot of this lately.

Why do we have to have "pairs" of threads?

Why can't you just post in the first thread?

Most of these get negative enough, why does the same argumetn have to run in 2 places?

I'm not callign for these to be deleted, but please members, enough is enough! I think a lot of these people who are starting the echo threads are just chagrined that they didn't get enough quotes or replies on the first thread. If you have a point, make it, but it is bad form IMO to just mirror another thread.

4 examples:

I'm sick of the Anti-Israel sentiment here on ATS!

I'm sick of the pro-Israel sentiment here on ATS!

The Heroism Conspiracy

I wonder.
What would the opposite of this thread be?

Actually, I think on really emotional issues it might be better to give the pros and cons different venues. Otherwise some of them would be having thread rage all of the time.

We Need More Threads That Are the Exact Opposites of Other Threads!?!

?

This has been happening for as long as I've been a member here. Always wondered why the mirror thread wasn't closed. I assume it isn't against the rules. *shrug* There's plenty of examples and they typically generate a lot of interest. double *shrug*

Alright, I'm off to start "We Need More Threads That Are the Exact Opposites of Other Threads!?!" I'm such an attention whore. (
