While I believe you make a good point with your comments, I would like to add something...

"I imagine ATS is on the "watch" list for a few of them." I think you may be "misunderestimating" the military... Remember that web-poll a little while back asking people what is the best discussion forum on the net? Far and away ATS took home the gold...
Nah, there are way more than "a few" of them monitoring this site. Especially considering the content. I would wager hard cash that each of my posts has been read and they know exactly who I am. Afterall, I was until recently employed by them and I was just as hard on them in my last two years as I am now...
Good thing about all this, and I've said it since the beginning. This isn't as bad a thing as people imagine it is.
For the last two years of my military service, my online activity was probably borderline treasonous in its content. (Treasonous in their eyes, patriotic in the eyes of the law) Yet I never heard a word about it. They do spread disinfo in these places, but they aren't putting people on any lists or anything like that.
I know, because if they had been, I would have been confronted about it.

I debated about what word to use there – the impression I wanted to get across was that Yes, We Are Being Watched but also Most Of Us Are Small Fry

I'm sure you're right about it being more than a few. At a guess, each branch of the military plus the various letter agencies would have their own people monitoring traffic here. And you wouldn't assign just one person to a web site – you'd need checks and balances, multiple layers of monitoring. And of course, that's just the U.S. government and doesn't include foreign governments or private corporations ( to the Halliburton reps).

But to look at a chart like the one in the OP and call it evidence of paid disinfo agents runs the risk of focusing attention on the rank and file of the military as the problem, rather than on the people with real control over information.

And overestimating how direct their interference on a site like this is runs the risk of desensitizing us to actual interference. Most of what gets talked about here is not a threat – even the stuff that gets posted as "mainstream media covered this up" was usually reported in mainstream sources, just not played up. So they would watch us as much for a sense of the mood here as anything else. And only interfere directly when someone got too close to a truth, or to bury us in rumors and innuendos that are ultimately no threat to the government.

At least, that's what I'd do if I were them.

I agree with everything you just said, I think.
My dog in this fight, however, was that by definition, soldiers being guided in how to post online in a light that shines positively on the US Government, are at best, unwitting disinformation agents.

It is splitting hairs a little, but the crux of the issue is the fact that they are being told, in their day to day lives, what the military wants them to hear about any given situation. And as I've shown, that is often times NOT congruent with the reality of any given situation.

But yeah, official spooks no doubt are watching this site right now. However, you'll probably not hear too much from them.

That is unless someone was to start some sort of grassroots campaign to take down the government or something. Then you would see them pop up, in force.

Edit to add: Actually, if it were ME that was an official spook. You would hear from me quite a bit. But only in the forums that weren't specific to my particular job title... That way, whenever, and if, I had a need to post in here as a requirement of my job, I would be a familiar face...

I would also go out of my way to make sure that I had a good reputation on the site.

I agree

With the exception of a few hair splits that really aren't that important anyway.

But then I think that anyone who posts using only sources that support one side of an issue is probably an unwitting disinformation agent, whether the sources are military propaganda or anti-vaccination propaganda. It didn't take a flow chart to make soldiers who buy lies fed to them by higher-ups into disinfo agents. And it shouldn't have taken a chart for us to realize that the military powers that be have a specific image that they want to project online.

Agreed.

This is also why I try to avoid arguments that involve me citing sources in my support. (appeals to authority are frowned on anyhow) Especially on things like anti-vaccinations. Afterall, a case can be made either way. I like to stick to topics such as this one where you can reason your way through it. haha... Easier that way. More fun, too.

There is no "disinfo.org" That is disinformation!

The Disinformation Company Ltd. publishes books and videos about the lies we are told by media and the govt., and hosts a website much like ATS - they even share many of the same subscribers, members, contributors, and stories.

They are at disinfo.com

They do not train disinfo agents and will not send you a "goody bag;" that's just more disinformation from blupblup. (I don't know if he was paid to do that, but wouldn't a 'volunteer' be even worse?)

I would suspect that the vast majority of intelligence agents that are watching sites such as ATS are not logged on as members, but rather are just lurking, and keeping track of what is said. There may be a few disinformation agents that do actually join as members, but that might be risky, because if caught, it would be a huge publicity nightmare, not to even mention the material for a new book by Jim Marrs.

i wouldnt worry about the paid disinfo agent. they are relativly harmless or 'mostly harmless' according to the hitchhickers guide book.

its the unpaid disinfo agent that comes to ats claiming alien visitation / saucer sightings / reptilians garbage without any factually conclusive, authenticated, verified or legitimate proof, posting other peoples youtube vids as evidence without supporting documentation that we have to worry about. this type of disinfo agent is seriously more detrimental to our own credability while we allow them to continue unabaited.

ats is full of the unpaid disinfo agents.
are you one ? do you know one ?

Totally agree.

The unwitting Disinfo-agent is the worse.
every time some loon or BS'er comes on here claiming this that or the other, It puts back the work/progress/credibility of any serious investigator or researcher by some time....

Like all the Blossom Goodchild crap we had before... and the time-travelers.. such a shame that there is always a "new-breed" to take up the mantle of ignorance.

The problem is lack of research... people are too lazy to find out and just believe and accept rubbish You-tube videos or debunked theories and stories from proven frauds...

Come on people... the worst dis-info on ATS is our OWN!!!

i am not in the military

but i will just use my inner thoughts to ponder it

and i would assume there is no "watch list"

i would assume the particular individual in the military, would visit whatever websites they wanted to

and just partake in normal activities

but just defend their position where ever they randomly land at if theres some sort of blatent yelling going on about stuff

just my gut instincts, not saying thats how it is

just trying to look at random possibilities

i actually dont see much wrong in that in itself , its fair enough

Actually, if you post in a chemtrail thread and try to explain that they are really just ordinary contrails, you will automatically get the title "disinfo agent".

The pay is lousy, though.
