U.S. scientists learn how to levitate tiny objects
www.reuters.com
CHICAGO (Reuters) - U.S. scientists have found a way to levitate the very smallest objects using the strange forces of quantum mechanics, and
said on Wednesday they might use it to help make tiny nanotechnology machines.
They said they had detected and measured a force that comes into play at the molecular level using certain combinations of molecules that repel one
another.
The repulsion can be used to hold molecules aloft, in essence levitating them, creating virtually friction-free parts for tiny devices, the
researchers said.
Federico Capasso, an applied physicist at Harvard University in Massachusetts, whose study appears in the journal Nature, said he believed that
detection of this force opened the possibility of a whole new class of tiny gadgets. (visit the link for the full news article)

This is so interesting. I can't wait to see what kind of gadgets they can come up with.
But you know, if they're announcing this to the public, then you can be sure that the military has known about it for some time. You know that they
can most likely levitate large objects. IMO this announcement lends credence to the theory that some, if not all, UFOs are American military.

You just might be needing a microscope to do that.
Or have vision-enhancing nanobots inhabiting your eyeballs.

Haha, I get it. I guess I meant that figuratively. I should have said, "I can't wait until they tell me what kind of gadgets they have come
up with."

I wonder if this has to do with the weaponization technique for anthrax that uses reverse charges to spread the spores out more?

I had not heard of this before. If you check this thread again, can you provide any more info. Thanks.

WHOA...
Are you serious that the name of this force used to levitate is called the Casimir-LIF#Z?
That's hilarious!

Yes,
This is how the Egyptians built the pyramids.

Wow... I wonder how many millions of taxpayer dollars were wasted on this little experiment. Any grade school kid has done the exact same experiment,
learning that if you jam two magnets together same pole to same pole, they repel each other. These Poindexters discovered magnetism... a mere 2,600
years after Aristotle made the same discovery.

Well actually this could help to build the biggest structures man has ever built!
My thinking is that things like the proposed space elevators and that pyramid city they want to build in Japan's harbour (google that one if you've
not seen it yet - that's going to be amazing)... any way those things are going to literally build them selves, swarms of machines will use nano
tech principles - so there is plenty of scope for low friction nano surfaces.... Don't ask me for details, I don't understand it at all

It is cool, but hardly breaking news.
www.sciencedaily.com...
ScienceDaily (Aug. 6, 2007) — St. Andrews scientists have discovered a new way of levitating tiny objects - paving the way for future
applications in nanotechnology.
Breaking to the MSM perhaps.

Or maybe US scientists are two years behind St. Andrews scientists. I guess they don't have MSN Messenger.

Edward Leedskalnin... cough
It's just electromagnetism.
Que the reports about secret levitating aircraft developed by the U.S. military.

This is surreal!
Yesterday came news from Hamas Secret Weapons...
www.abovetopsecret.com...
I was joking about "Hamas Air Carpet Forces" (HACF) threatening Tel Aviv... "If Hamas starts to levitate in their top secret stealth carpets..."
So does this mean that "secret weapons" are now in hands of USA?
- Thats what the US troops in Gaza border are catching! Illegal flying carpets from India...

Or maybe it doesnt really exist until Americans discover it. A weird version of the Schrodinger's cat scenario.
A thing neither exist or not exists until an American observes it.....

I’ll concur.
The question is though; can you imagine just how far this discovery in terms of technology has come by now? I have a friend in the Marines and he
insists that on a daily basis on the battlefield they are using technology that would blow everyone’s minds. In addition; he’s been in long
enough that he’s personally observed some of this technology filter slowly into the retail market typically a DECADE after it’s implemented by our
troops. He’s a pretty trustworthy guy, I have no reason to doubt him, but I’ll concede that this is speculation.
