No, I rather think it has a lot to do with the multiple artillery rockets that keep dropping on Israeli towns and farms on a daily basis.
With all the oil-rich Arab countries of the world claiming solidarity with the Palestinians (and even a few non-Arab OPEC members, such as Chavez), I
would imagine that free or low-cost oil would not be a problem for such a small population of people.
The key data point of your question is Israel removing it's settlements. That's called a concession, or even a show of good faith. Where is the
Palestinian response? It takes two to tango...........
