Although I agree that this man was wronged when forced to cover up a t-shirt with Arab script (transtlated to "We will not be silent", and I also
agree that compensation was deserved, I feel that $240,000 is way to much.
Then again, we see lawsuits for frivilous matters where people are awarded millions of dollars, so perhaps it's not so much afterall.
Perhaps it will serve as a warning to airlines that they cannot descriminate in the name of the "war on terror"

An airline passenger forced to cover his T-shirt because it displayed Arabic script has been awarded 240,000 dollars in compensation, campaigners said Monday.(visit the link for the full news article)
Raed Jarrar received the pay out on Friday from two US Transportation Security Authority officials and from JetBlue Airways following the August 2006 incident at New York's JFK Airport, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) announced.
