Iran does have something in the middle east that the US does want and that is power.
there may be untold amount of untapped oil reserves all over the place, but trying to open them is now a nightmare with the Global warming alarmest groups protesting if you pass wind at the dinner table.
So Iran wouldn't be the same walk over as the Iraq conflict, Iraq had come out of a war with Iran and then had fight with the US and before they could regroup had sanctions placed on them for years prior to the second invasion.
A angry scout troop could have taken them out at the same pace as the US did. the only difference would be, the scout troop would have already finnished the job and pulled out after teaching the Iraqis about learning to be prepared.

Oh, I bet that ship shows up, and I bet that Iran is hoping that it is attacked, just so they will have an "excuse" to get their noses right in the middle of this. You watch!

i have a good solution:
-Invade Iran
-Let the Israeli's and Palestinians live in peace in Israel together under the Elected government
The raging war in Gaza that has become the Killing Fields of the Middle East bears witness to the truth of Samuel Huntington's warning, which the late Harvard political scientist raised 16 years ago, that people's cultural and religious identities will be the primary source of conflict in the post-Cold War world.
