Indeed...
The Russians are preparing for the worst, and even in the economic
downturn they poured billions into finishing this:
Yamantau - WW3 bunker for 60,000+ in Russia
It is designed to take 6 target on target nuclear weapons strikes
and survive it.
Ppl like to laugh at the Russian bombers but they don't carry bombs
anymore, they carry this thing:
Kh-102 - Stealth Nuclear Cruise Missile
Newer and more stealthy version have been made as well.
This is a first strike weapon as far as I can see it.
The fact that the top Russian General gets on Russian TV and
starts ranting about the US missile shield and how Russia is now
going to the policy of preemptive nuclear strike ....
Top Russian General declares new policy of Pre-emptive nuclear
strike
Any single piece can be considered a one off, but after awhile it
starts to pile on and you kinda want to pinch yourself to wake
up from the nightmare.
But you are awake, and this is real.
Damn few ppl seem to be giving it a moments notice.
If these former soviet Bloc countries keep tweaking the bear
with missile shield radars and missiles, and western cooperation
and refusing to pay their gas bill like the Ukraine, and then
holding the gas hostage and turning it off to Europe.
Russia is going to get incredibly pissed.
Putin has made his feelings clear on Ukraine joining NATO.
Putin threatens to aim nuclear warheads at Ukraine if they
join NATO
This whole natural gas thing is literally more fuel on the fire.
This whole deal of former soviet Bloc members getting US bases,
and US radar, and US planes has made Russia very upset.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves.

At the risk of sounding stupid and asking a sensible objective question related to the OP:
Is there any information 'out there' on the aid ship...size/name of vessel, navigation route, etc?
As I pointed out, Gaza doesnt have any kind of deep-water mooring or mass-tonnage cargo handling (if you look up the harbour on GE you can see it
packed full of small coastal fishing vessels)
So how is the ship, if its a large one, meant to dock if there are no tugs to assist?
Or aid meant to be unloaded once the Iranian ship reaches its destination?

This is the best I can find for detailed info. It is also listed on the US SDN list of blocked vessels. I'm sure Israel would do the same.
Blocked vessels are being segregated into a separate section on the Master list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons. Banks are now
instructed to reject any funds transfer referencing a blocked vessel and must notify OFAC, via facsimile with a copy of the payment instructions, that
funds have been returned to remitter due to the possible involvement of an SDN vessel in the underlying transaction. Banks must contact OFAC's
Compliance Programs Division for further instructions should the name of an SDN vessel appear in shipping documents presented under a letter of credit
or if noticed in a documentary collection. SDN vessels must themselves be physically blocked should they enter U.S. jurisdiction. Freight forwarders
and shippers may not charter, book cargo on, or otherwise deal with SDN vessels.

I have lost ALL respect with Israel as a result of this latest inquisition. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE in their contemptuous treatment of innocent
civilians (any more than there has been our treatment of innocent Iraqi civilians). None of these civilians have had any control of hamas in this
area! As I have asked repeatedly: What is the point in fighting terrorism if you yourself become one (Huh USA and Israel? How about it??).

Yes I'm with you 100% on this one. USA is completely taking the piss re Russia. End of Cold War? Kak is it, USA pushing into ex Eastern Bloc,
next step into ex Soviet Republics themselves. USA didn't stick to its side of the agreement, they have pushed hard against a Russia paranoid after
losing tens of millions in World Wars. America needs to understand............. Russia has its sphere of influence too. I would love to see how
Americans would feel when Canada and Mexico suddenly go Russian, agree to Russian 'advisors' on their territory, join a Warsaw type Pact, take
delivery of Russian weapons and agree to a missile defence shield on their territory. Then Texas and Florida go independent! Even better Russian
'advisors' and equipment flow into Texas and Florida, oh and now California is going independent too!

Several years ago the US gave Israel several billion dollars, which
they turned around and used to buy F-15 Strike Eagles designed
to carry extra fuel tanks that put them in range of Iran.
We also sold them Bunkbuster bombs as well, the big 5,000 lb.
monsters that will go down about 110 ft. before detonating by
using a 8" howitzer barrel as the outer casing.
The first foreign sale of the GBU-28 was the acquisition of 100 units by Israel, authorized in April 2005.[6] Delivery of the weapons was accelerated
at the request of Israel in July 2006. According to Israeli Military sources, Hezbollah puts their rocket launchers in bunkers and fortifications
underground. [7]
On 28 December 2008, Israel also dropped a number of GBU-28 bunker-buster bombs on Hamas smuggling tunnels in the Philadelphi strip between Egypt and
Gaza. [8], 29 December 2008
Whitney Raas and Austin Long, Osirak Redux? Assessing Israeli Capabilities to Destroy Iranian Nuclear Facilities, MIT Security Studies Program Working
Paper, April 2006.
First sale of the GBU-28 to a foreign power was Israel
It's a beast of a bomb.
The long range F-15 Strike Eagle sale with extra fuel capacity changes
the equation on them being able to strike in Iran.

Also keep in mind in flight refueling, which the F-15 can do.

It may have been delayed in the canal for legit or not so legit reasons.
They will prolly require an inspection for it to pass thru the Canal too
due to what was recently found on the boat the Somalia pirates
captured.
Somali pirates seize iranian ship and die after handling cargo
If that does turn out to be chemical weapons on that ship, then that
could put Iran in a bad spot.
And all the more reason to inspect this current ship VERY carefully.

I agree, Russia carried the weight of WW2 did most of the killing
on the Allied side, and most of the dying.
The stats are all there for any who care to read them on Wikipedia.
The cold war supposedly ended just 20 years ago.
Russia is going to need a little more time before we start sticking
military installations on their doorstep.
Also by not letting them inspect the facilities it sent a bad message
as well if they are truly only for defensive methods.
Some ppl say timing is everything, right now with all the former
soviet states declaring independence it is not a good time to
tweak the bear that is feeling cornered.
I served in the US forces, had beer with Russians in Toulon France,
and they are human beings just like the rest of us.
Leaders on both sides do questionable things, but when it comes
down to it we could park defensive missiles further from Russia
and still achieve our goal.
If Ukraine goes into NATO and they start the missile shield radar or
even worse some of the missiles it will not sit very well with moscow.
Top Russian General says Russia is now on poilcy of preemptive Nuclear Strike
Russian warns it could strike poland
over US missile shield
Russia tells Ukraine to stay out of NATO
The top brass in Russia have made this abundantly clear.
They have been preparing for a worst case scenario.
Yamantau - Nuclear Bunker for 60,000+ in Russia
Even during the economic hard times this thing has been rushed
to completion.
To deny their posture is blind at best, intentional global reset at worst.
The Georgia Guidestones - calling for 6.2 billion dead
This falls right in line with many books put out by followers of the
Club of Rome and Committee of 300 with their words of ....
"carrying capacity" ... You can find some of these thoughts
in books like "limits to growth", etc etc.
The committee of 300 conspiracy
Club of Rome linked to Bilderberg
One of their followers had the cojones to carve it in stone and stick
it on a hill for all to see, 6.2 billion need to get off their ride...
I am ready, and everyone needs to be...don't resist, just get ready
to hide VERY well and underground.
Good Luck to you all !

I distinctly remember a news-thread on ATS from last year (but for the life of me can't find it in the archives) of a couple of similar incidents,
one involving at least two F-15/-18s crashing into the sea during naval carrier excercise in the Persian Gulf.
What struck me was that it may have been a practice run for an end-mission carrier landing for the Israeli jets that were to make the Natanz bomb-run.
Makes some kind of sense as it would mean a shorter trip than flying into Iraninan territory and all the way back home.
Any thoughts?

If Iran is smart they would sit back and do nothing til Bush/Cheney leaves office cause those two boys are looking for a way to get the U.S. into Iran
now, Iran need not give them the reason!
I think it depends heavily on Irans goals.
If Iran's goals is to "stand up to the aggressor" and thereby get others to do it with them. Then martyrdom works in their favor.
Just imagine the unleashing of hatred and anger towards the west if an Iranian Humanitarian mission (regardless of real intent) were destroyed.
I dunno... I think Iran has lots of leverage here, but I don't think they really have the ball$ to pull it off.

I have done extensive searching into the whereabouts of the Iranian cargo ship with no luck in finding its status. If there is any information
regarding it's route or departure info, it's probably in another language I haven't been able to search/translate in.
I will keep checking to see if something comes up.

From what I've read it was supposed to arrive between the 6th and the 7th, so it may be there later today. But we really don't know what kind of
weather conditions it's encountered on it's trip. It should be exciting to see none the less when the ship arrives, because I am positive that
Israel is going to destroy it. Then the fireworks shall really fly!
