The 7.4 Indonesia (Java) quake has been downgraded to a 7.0. Still strong, but there's a BIG difference between a 7.4 and a 7.0. There's a map at the bottom of the previous page, here. Click on the link provided for the updated map, and then click on the dot on the map.

Didn't it occur exactly in South Ossetia?
Surely people there may have thought of a military attack (by the way, a 6.0 Richter earthquake has the equivalent energy of a 1 Megaton nuke).

The quake hit in Georgia, just outside the border with South Ossetia. Check the maps.

Several injured after a 6.4 just hit Bali, No tsunami warning yet,

A strong earthquake shook the Indonesian island of Bali on Saturday morning, according to the country's seismological survey. No tsunami warnings or watches were issued.

The earthquake, which had a preliminary magnitude of 6.4, struck 35 miles west-southwest of Mataram on Indonesia's Lombok island, or 68 miles from Denpasar, the capital city of Bali Province.

Strong shaking was reported by users on the social networking website Twitter, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties from the earthquake which struck at 6.07 a.m. local time (7.07 p.m. EDT).

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center reported the earthquake as a preliminary 5.8 magnitude, but reports from local seismological agencies are regularly considered more reliable.

Hours earlier, a strong earthquake struck eastern Indonesia, close to the Maluku Islands. No casualties were reported after the earthquake, which also had a 6.4 magnitude.

Bali is in the so-called "Pacific Ring of Fire", where strong earthquakes often occur. Most do not cause severe damage or many casualties

Baja Cali is on a roll today!

Pretty close to the Salton Sea "tangle"...

I'm beginning to think the Puerto Rico plate is "flowing" down across north Venezuela and across Mexico to So Cal in that fault line...
