Sensfan, I respect your position, but sadly Scientology is not just like any other religion. Do other religions promote the disconnection of family?
Scientology does. If you join the Cult, and all of your family members do not, you are required to disconnect from them. They then are given the title
of Suppressive Person, or SP, and you are forbidden to have any contact with them ever again. Most religions I know have very strong family values and
promote togetherness, not separation.
You can go to a Church or Mosque and listen to a sermon for free, or perhaps you can offer a small donation. Scientology requires that you pay, and
pay, and pay, and the second you stop paying, they want nothing to do with you. Simply getting to OT-3 in the Cult, a level of membership, costs over
$350,000 US.
Scientology is well known for denying proper medical treatment to it's members to the point that people have died.
Lisa McPherson is just one example. The more you look at the cult, the more dangerous you will find it to be.
You can even ask the children of cult members, children who were born into the cult and had no choice in the matter, how bad their lives were.
Ex Scientology kids The niece of the cults leader escaped from a life of misery within the organization
and has spoken a great deal about how bad the life of children within the cult is.
I agree, that to a certain extent, people should be free to practice what ever belief system they choose. If people want to believe that they are
alien ghosts, and that galactic lord Xenu is the supreme being, then that is perfectly fine. The trouble I have with Scientology is not Xenu, it is
the denial of basic human rights. Didn't Jett Travolta have the right to proper medical care?
