To begin, I would first like to say thank you for considering my following questions.
At this point (4 January 2009 8:20 AM UTC) the USGS has not provided any indications that an eruption event is imminent despite the fact that many
geologists and volcanologists are studying the recent seismic activity. This leads me to believe that your claims are nothing more than an attempt to
attract attention to yourself for whatever reasons.
In light of that, my questions to you are:
- Wouldn’t it be prudent for an official statement to come from USGS rather than a LONE geologist using his own personal website to disseminate
such information?
- What do you hope to gain by making sensationalist claims?
- Are you aware that by making such claims that are outside the realm of mainstream science that you could be placing your professional career on the
line?
- As a scientist myself I must ask, have you ever heard of the peer review process?
