I think you must have misunderstood the point I was trying to make earlier that you quoted from.
Yes, I am acknowledging that the Government will make a release of the information. However, it would still be prudent for people to pay VERY CLOSE
ATTENTION to this.
You see, BECAUSE the Government CANNOT order any sort of red-alert or evacuation order until they are pretty damned certain the thing is about to go,
that alone will make their response inadequate to an event like this.
It is JUST LIKE Hurricane Katrina, if it is truly about to go, where you will have the potential for catastrophic loss but little to nothing the
Government can do about it.
Why can't they do anything about it? For the simple fact that the possibility of them being wrong is very high. Things like this only occur very
rarely. If they ordered a full-on evacuation at every threat, they would be harming the public by doing so. They cripple the economy and incite tons
of fear. They won't comment until, and if, it is iminent. However, it is still a good idea to keep a very close eye on it and when we hear geologists
who work there getting concerned, it is time for us to do so as well. Forewarned is forearmed, or something to that effect.
I'm not advising people to run to the hills, but to monitor this very closely if you are potentially effected by it.
Sorry for the novella, I just wanted to clarify my position.
