Yanks! You go to love them. Do you people actually think that when a man becomes president that his skin colour matters to the powers that be?

He will be just like any other president! Obsessions about racial colour is only important to us at the bottom of the pyramid. Those at the top are only interested in what one thinks or willing to do.

We are all {...insert n word here...} to them regardless of skin colour. Pay your taxes and sharrup!!!

Lets be honest here, he told the people what they wanted to hear and now he is the POTUS elect. So there is no room to complain if he doesn't produce what "the people" thought he should.

1. You failed to say exactly "what" change you wanted and he didn't say.

2. You failed to say exactly "when" the change was to take place and he wasn't specific.

3. You failed to say exactly "how" you expected him to make the change and he didn't elaborate.

Therefor he must do nothing and he is quite safe in doing so. Because it was the people that failed in their duty to ask the proper questions in order to get their answer.

At least give him a chance before you slam the door on him.

I'm glad you brought this up. During the election I tried to tell people that he is only telling people what they want to hear, But I got burnt for it. As far as the race issue goes, I look at it this way. All the different races on earth started life on this planet at different locations for a reason and I believe we need to keep it that way.

Whoopty doo,,,,,,,, what does it all mean Bassell. Absolutely nothing. This is a stupid thread. Who cares what scrolled across on a ticker. This is hardly news. There are going to be alot of dissappointed people by the end of this year when they realize Obama is no savior.

Yes, it's time you remember this is the United States. We have freedom of speech here.

Stop trying to impose your own feelings on everyone else. It will never work; you will only drive people further apart.

There is always going to be something that hurts your delicate sensitivities. Best that you learn to accept it and move on.

Why are people so disrespectful towards the black race in general?

Barack Obama, a BLACK man, is your PRESIDENT. POLICE CHIEF OF THE WORLD.

I've always heard that offense is in the eyes of the receiver. If blacks refused to take offense, then words wouldn't matter.

My delicate sensitivities?
Hardly. But thanks.

This isn't a matter of free speech.
You can say whatever you want.
This is about being responsible and mindful enough that you
don't say and do things that further separate the species.

It is this sort of disrespect and disregard for each other that ultimately
is, and will continue to be, responsible for destroying lives and the
future of this planet.

Again - first grade is over. Let's stop calling each other names.
And get on with evolving.

To answer a few questions floating around ... my classification would be "Negro" If I had to check a box. To the person who asked "Why is that word offensive anyway?" It has to do with the fact that no one says it anymore , kinda like bloomers , blunderbus , thou etc... there is really no correct PC context for it. Nigger means ignorant , Negro means black. Both carry negative connotations because of the context in which they have been used. If one of your melanin enhanced friends (If you have any) wasn't knowledable in a subject you were talking about would you call him a Nigger?.... why not?.... It just means Ignorant. Surely He'd know u were saying that because of the dictionary meaning of the word. "Hey Bill , you know you're REALLY being a Nigger right now!!!"

Give him a call tomorrow and say "Hey Bill , How's my favorite Negro doing this morning!?!" .... Are you smirking right now?.... Yeah because its rediculous. It IS funny but Its also wrong. I mean really WHO says NEGRO!?!

Most of us have enough EQ that we know what is and isn't socially acceptable. (some may act like children and play the "But Why!?!" game) Even though I may THINK certain things like... "WOW that chick is fat!!!" I know enough not to say it aloud (even though she is in fact fat) Because for some reason I don't think it would go over too well....

In closing, I did find the Barry the magic Negro thing funny because... well it was so blatant that it was funny. And I will try to find as much humor in life as I can before the "CHANGE" that has been promised does come... trust me seeing that at the bottom of the ticker on FOX news will be the LEAST of our problems.

it's crazy how the internet age has created this way of communicating thoughts/opinions that are "negative' and create "negative energy" without any repercussions to the individual posting. Random anonymous people can sit behind their computers and stir up controversy and effect the national mood or opinion without ever having to own up to the action. It's like throwing a rock at cars on a freeway, it can create so many problems even though it is just a small rock.

Inappropriate and distasteful? Yes. Racist? I don't believe so. Anyway, the word "negro" is used in a neutral sense in modern times. It's not fair to equate this with the word "whitey." Generally when somebody uses the word negro, they are not implying anything negative, just trying to describe someone's physical appearance more accurately within a certain context, without offending anyone else.

Could you elaborate why Obama's physical appearance should be described. I think pretty much every American is aware that Obama's skin color is black. As explained in the 'negro kisses' example, I have no problems with the word negro, after all enough black people call one another like that anyway.

I've already asked the same question before:

You tell me what relevance his skin color has to his ability to perform in the first place. I don't know about America, but here in the Netherlands people don't commonly use skin colors to refer to people.

That depends entirely the way it's used. If I say most people in Africa are negroes, that would be fine. But if I add the word "effen" in front of it, the energies in the sentence change dramatically.

Same as a lot of blacks call each other the other "N" word. It's not racist, because there is no intent to offend. But most of the time, the term is used to try and make blacks appear second class.

It's not about words, it's about the energies that are generated by the way the word is used.

"Magic negro" in my opinion is offensive. What is wrong with "magic man"? The only reason the word negro is used is because they know they can't get away with using the other "N" word.

Well technicly the man is not a negro anyhow. He is mixed white and black. But if he was fully black, what is the harm in calling him a negro? He would be one. That would be his race. My race isn't white, it's caucasion. Black people's race is not black, it's negro. Too much sensitivity really. By the way it is black people or negro people, or just people, not African American. Ya can't be both. I don't refer to myself as Scottish American. My ancestors are from Scotland but I am an American. If ya hate America so much that you have to claim another nationality then by all means leave America.

A Very simple reason why this was not caught by Fox Moderators is evident all around NYC (assuming that this is where the broadcast centre is).

For example, I was in New York a few days ago, and on one of the busses that run from the airport to NYC there was a sign that said "Tips is essential for good service. Tips is very much appreciated"

Wandering around the city I saw several other signs dotted about in various businesses that were poorly spelt, or worse, lacked basic grammar, as above.

WHAT? I hear you ask... Where did these people go to school? Do they not know basic grammar, and spelling skills?

I only wish I had taken a picture of the above to at least have some evidence of my claim.

But if the morons at FOX lack the ability to use English just as many in NYC seem to do, then they might not have known that negro is the same as 'n-word', nigro, etc.

However, what are you all mincing on about? The word was in use long before it became "politcally incorrect" to use it. Besides, if people of the negroid races are allowed to use base, crass, or even inflamatory words to "describe" whites, where is the problem.

Discuss.

A liberal black man, working at the liberal LA Times, pinned the phrase "Magic Negro" on Barack Obama. The same paper that wondered if Barack Obama was "black enough", or "black like me".

www.latimes.com...

WE KNOW this: Barack Obama is a rising star. He's a powerful speaker and a gifted writer. He is the only African American serving in the U.S. Senate. But is he black?

That's what New York Daily News columnist Stanley Crouch asked last month, and his answer was decidedly "no."

www.latimes.com...

ALTHOUGH NOT quite able to pass for white, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has been able to pass for African American. He is biracial, but not white; black, but not African American; American but not African. What has entranced the country more than his somewhat vague policies is Obama's challenge to conventional racial and cultural categories.

Among African Americans, discussions about his racial identity typically vacillate between the ideologically charged options of "black" versus "not black enough" or between "black" and "black, but not like us."

Parody always has a source. Limbaugh and Shanklin had a source for the now famous parody of "Barack the Magic Negro" and it was the liberal LA Times, and the liberal media in general.

Anyway, as a white guy, if I decided to give a donation to the United Negro College Fund....would I be considered a racist?
