Once upon a time, a long time ago, there was a land called Floppy. In Floppy Land everybody was floppy. They flopped about every day. All day long
they flopped this way and that way, all over the Floppy land.
One day in Floppy land, a Back Bone came to visit and looked around. The Back Bone said, “These Floppy people are not like me, this is no
good”... so the Back Bone ran around Floppy land telling everyone that they were Floppy and that they were different.
The people who lived in Floppy Land did not know they were floppy. They did not know that there was a land called Back Bone. They did not know there
were Back Bones being straight in the land of Back Bone.
The Floppy people got angry and said, “We don’t want a Back Bone here, go away! Go back to your own land and be as straight as you want!”
The Back Bone got angry too and yelled back at the Floppy people, “I am going to make you Floppy people straight like me!”
All the Floppy people flopped after the Back Bone to flop him away from their land. Miss Floppy said to Miss Floppy, “I don’t like him at all.
He is rigid and too straight. I like being floppy, we are flexible and flop about freely”.
Mr Floppy said to Miss Floppy, “I don’t want to walk as tall as him. I like to flop around with all my floppy friends, if we see him in our land,
we will flop him out of our land”
Back Bone went back to Back Bone Land furious and said, “There are Floppy people in a land called Floppy, they are being floppy, flopping around all
day, every day, this has got to stop!” Mr Back Bone said to Miss Back Bone, “Pack your bags, we are going to Floppy Land!” Miss Back Bone
said, “I don’t want to go to Floppy Land, I don’t want to go to a place I haven’t been to before! How different are these Floppy people?”
Mr Back Bone was still angry and yelled at Miss Back Bone, “Floppy People are not straight like us!” Miss Back Bone did not understand but went
and packed her bags, she always did as she was told. Two Back Bones from Back Bone Land went to Floppy Land. As soon as the Floppy people saw them,
they flopped all over them and killed them.
Miss Floppy said, “Oh No! ... we have flopped them and they have died...we have killed two people from Back Bone Land... what happens if Back Bone
Land find out what we have done to their Back Bones?”
All the Floppy people got together and were very worried. They had a big meeting and decided upon a plan. Mr Floppy said, “Bring me the two Back
Bones” The Floppy people carried the Back Bones to Mr Floppy. Mr Floppy called Miss Floppy and said, “We will put the Back Bones in our bodies.
We will pretend to be them and go back to Back Bone Land, say hello and tell them we have made friends with the people in Floppy Land. We will tell
them we want to live in Floppy Land”
Mr Floppy put Mr Back Bone inside his body. Miss Floppy put Miss Back Bone inside her body. Miss Floppy said, “But we don’t look like them, we
are now straight like them but we don’t look like them...if we go back to Back Bone Land, they will see we look different...we won’t get away with
it!”
Mr Floppy said, “Well, instead of trying to be them, we will tell them they died and we wanted to return their Back Bones to them”
Miss Floppy was still worried and said, “They might want to know how their Back Bones died...what will we tell them?”
Mr Floppy said, “We will tell them we don’t know how they died...”
Miss Floppy interrupted Mr Floppy and said, “But what if they find out we flopped them to death?”
Mr Floppy said, “They won’t find out, will they... Miss Floppy?”
So Mr Floppy and Miss Floppy with Back Bones went to Back Bone Land and spoke to the King of Back Bone Land. They told the King two of his Back Bone
people had died in Floppy Land and they wanted to return the Back Bones to their own land. King Back Bone was very upset and when they placed the
Back Bones at the King’s feet, the King wept.
Mr Floppy and Miss Floppy went back to Floppy Land and told everyone not to worry about what they had done. Life went on as usual in Floppy Land but
Miss Floppy had never had to tell a lie before and had trouble flopping about because she knew the Floppy People had made her part of the Floppy Land
lie.
Miss Floppy started to see a Ghost. A Ghost started to follow Miss Floppy around and Miss Floppy could find no rest. Miss Floppy began to fear her
own Floppy people. The Floppy people knew she was having problems because she stopped flopping about and the Floppy people noticed. The Floppy
People began to see that her conscience was a threat to Floppy Land peace. Miss Floppy ran away from Floppy Land because she did not want to live in
Floppy Land anymore.
Mr Floppy was very angry. Mr Floppy was furious that Miss Floppy had run away. Mr Floppy sent out his Floppy Army to find Miss Floppy and bring her
back to Floppy Land. Mr Floppy said Miss Floppy was his Floppy Land lover and he wanted her back.
When Miss Floppy ran away, the Ghost followed her, so she ran even more. Miss Floppy did not stay anywhere for too long. Miss Floppy stopped running
one day and asked the Ghost, “Who are you and why are you chasing me?”
The Ghost was very, very angry and said he was going to kill Miss Floppy because he was the Ghost of Mr and Miss Back Bone. Miss Floppy cried and
said that she did not kill the two Back Bone people. She only put Miss Back Bone inside her body to return her to Back Bone Land. Miss Floppy told
the Ghost, that she went along with the lie for Floppy Land peace and that the Floppy people didn’t mean to kill the Back Bones. The Floppy people
didn’t want the Back Bone people forcing them to be straight like them and so they flopped them as soon as they saw them in their land and they
died.
The Ghost saw the Floppy Army coming to get Miss Floppy and so the Ghost hid Miss Floppy in his body. Miss Floppy cried because she was in a dark
place and all she had to talk to was the Ghost. Miss Floppy stayed in the dark place with the Ghost a long time. Miss Floppy started to love the
Ghost and forgot the Ghost was Mr and Miss Back Bone. Miss Floppy fell in love with the Ghost.
The Ghost said Back Bone People and Floppy People do not go together. They are different and they are not allowed to be together. Miss Floppy did
not understand that. The Ghost also told Miss Floppy not to touch him because he was a Ghost and people do not touch Ghosts.
Well, Miss Floppy was sad and confused and did not know why Floppy Land people and Back Bone people were not allowed to be together, she did not
understand why people and Ghosts were not allowed to be together either. Miss Floppy was angry with the rules and told the Ghost she was going back
to Floppy Land to be with Mr Floppy then.
Miss Floppy ran back to Floppy Land and Mr Floppy came running up to her and slapped her face. Mr Floppy was angry but glad she was home. Mr Floppy
kept her close so he could keep an eye on her.
When Mr Floppy flopped around with Miss Floppy, Miss Floppy didn’t flop about with him like she used to. Mr Floppy didn’t know about the Ghost.
When Miss Floppy ran back to Floppy Land the Ghost followed her. Miss Floppy loved the Ghost and wanted to flop about with him instead of Mr Floppy,
but that wasn’t allowed because she was a Floppy person and he was the Ghost of Mr and Miss Back Bone.
Miss Floppy was so upset she killed herself. Mr Floppy was devastated and felt bad for getting her to live with a lie, so he went to Back Bone Land
to speak to the King.
Mr Floppy told the King of Back Bone Land what happened and the King was furious. The King yelled, “You Floppy people raped two of my Back Bones.
I will destroy all of the Floppy People and all of Floppy Land”
Mr Floppy pleaded with the King but it was in vain.
Mr Floppy went back to Floppy Land and told the Floppy people that Floppy Land was to be destroyed and all of the Floppy people. The Floppy people
cried and stopped flopping around and just waited for the Back Bone Army to come and kill them.
And they are still waiting...
