This is an ancient, metaphorical riddle. These both seem to describe some sort of military organization or weapon, either in the past, present, or near future. Kudos to anyone who can identify and explain what these might be. Anyways, Happy New Year! And good hunting to all of us in 2009 on our quest for the truth.

• have same or similar power as a scorpion but if one uses an animal as a metaphor for them, they are more similar to locusts
• they are not supposed to harm the grass or any plants or trees, and not the "good guys" either
• They aren't allowed to kill the "bad guys" but only can torment them for five months with their tails
• the torment is like the sting of a scorpion
• they look like "horses" ready for battle
• on their heads they wear what looked like crowns of gold
• their faces are like human faces
• they had hair like a woman's hair
• their teeth are like lions teeth
• their chests are like iron breastplates
• the sound of their wings is like the the sound of many horse-drawn chariots racing into battle
• they have tails like scorpions with stingers
• their king is called in Hebrew, Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon. In Hebrew this is translated as destruction, or ruin. In Greek, this is "Destroyer".

• there are four groups of these bound at the banks of the Euprhates
• prepared for the very instant they are to kill much of the human race
• they can be described as an army of 200 million cavalry troops
• they have something called red, blue and yellow "breast plates" or armor
• their "horses" heads are like those of a lion
• out of their mouths comes fire, and smoke, and sulfur
• the power of these "horses" is in their mouths and in their tails
• their tails are "like snakes" with heads that inflict harm

That sort of make sense, like it being some sort of plague. But what kind of virus could it specifically be?

It perhaps could be pilots with long hair

You're talking about the Book of Revelations, and the one thing that fits in terms of the trumpet and is a perfect description, is the spread of Islam from Arabia.

I have a more detailed comparison, including the Muslim writings that indicate about the "Crowns of gold."

The Arabs came from the land of locusts, fought on horseback, left to spread Islam in 632, wore gold turbans, had faces of men, or beards - the distinguishing mark of manhood in the ME, the Arabs of that period had long hair as hair of women, as described by Pliny Nat. His. 7:28, and Ammaniaus Marcelliunu in the fourth and Jerome in the fifth century.

The breastplates as it were breastplates of iron indicates iron, but not exactly a solid breastplate, or he would have just said "breastplate." This would be a good description of iron mail that the Musims favored.

And Muhammed was a fallen star. He was an heir to the rule of Mecca, but with his father and grandfather dying while he was young, he was pushed aside to become an embittered servant commoner.

The Musims had orders not to destroy vegetation, as they came from a land where it was so precious.

The destructive work of Islam was to continue for a prophetic five months, or 150 days.

It was in AD 632 that the Arab hosts burst outward in conquest.

In 732 Charles Martel stopped their European expansion.

In 762 the capitol of the Saracen Empire wsa moved to Baghdad.

In 781 the Caliph Haround Al Rashid was their ruler, and in 782, the second year of his reign, Al Rashid was engaged in friendly correspondence with the Christian rulers of Europe.

632 to 782 is - 150 years, or five prophetic months, with each day being one year.

Furthermore, after the Arab scourge, the world was divided into three parts. Two had fallen before the previous five destructive agencies. One still has to fall by the angels bound at the river Eurphrates.

Just before 1000 AD, Turks arrived on the banks of the Euphrates, and didn't cross until 1057, or two generations later.

There were four angels, or four powers. The Turks were divided into four kingdoms under the four grandsons of Togrul, father of Malek Shah.

Consider:

1. They were bound by the river Euphrates.

2. There were four commands.

3. Their armies were of horsemen, apparently countless.

4. The Turks numbered their horsemen by MYRIADS instead of thousands. Gibbon, Chapter 57.

5. The Ottomans until a very recent period wore warlike apparel of SCARLET, BLUE, and YELLOW.

6. The first time gunpowder was used was during their campaigns, and they had huge cannon they used in the assault on Constantinople. Fourteen batteries thundered at once on the most accessable places, and one was mounted with one-hundred thirty balls.

7. There was power in the tails of the horses. This is singular. Among the Turks, the horse's tail is the emblem of power. The number of horses tails determines rank. A Pacha of three tails is a great officer.

Ranger, a while back, somewhere, I was asked to explain the trumpets. There are about five pages in my posts.

The Roman Empire was divided into three parts. We just addressed the last part when it fell.

The earlier trumpets demonstrate the invasions and fall of the other two parts of the Roman Empire, which was the "world" of John.

I'm not real familiar with how to direct you to those posts that I made, but if you're interested, they are here somewhere. It's very detailed, and parallels history perfectly.

First Trumpet Goths.

Second Trumpet Vandals which crossed at Gibralter and attacked from the sea which had been dominated by the Roman navy.

Third Trumpet, Hungarians crossed Danube, crossed Rhine, battled on the Marne, again at the river Rhone, and even the river Po. When their leader died, the banks of the river Danube was turned aside, and buried beneath the river bed lies the bones of the star called Wormwood.

And so on. Good luck with your research.

Also if you want a pretty good text, order the "People's New Testament With Notes" and commentary by Johnson.

There is a wealth of historical information included alongside the texts which will help one to understand much of the visuals that John describes.

The thing about prophecies, or understanding these visions, is that they can't be selected and plugged into one vision, and not fit in place with the preceding and following visions.

If a description is to be assumed, then it must be in the right place, at the right time, and fit all the other context of the vision.

I don't know if I helped or not.
