Those have knowledge about Obama from his family history, the books he authored years prior to his presidential bid and the policies he has proposed. Folks who voted him in also know who he is from his exstensive record of voting, which has been readily available vai the web.

The question of whether we "know him" arises from fear of the unknown ie. the guy whos name sounds like Osama and suddam and that his "different". Though that question is limited to the loony right.... the same loony right that decided to outright support this war of lies in the middle east, the same loony right that wastes there time making accusations about an individual who hasnt served a presidential term, who has yet to make decisions as president, yet this group chooses not to question the last 8years of the rightwing administration.

Do people know Obama 100% ? no and we never will. Will people know McCain or Palin 100%? no nobody ever will. It is impossible for us to do so, and this notion that we should spend hours of our lives analysing every singly piece of the lives of these individuals before they do anything to be judged upon, especially just because they hold a different political belief, is well... pathetic.

I know him from reading his books too as I HAVE read them. I read how saul alinsky a communist and someone most of obama's speechs borrowed quotes from his books about change. The slow methodical steps it would take to change our Government to one of Socialism then not long after, to communism. How they were grooming someone to bring about that final chapter in this country and how they would recognise him as "the one" they had all been waiting for. Unless you didn't read those same books you wouldn't know what the catch phrases in the speeches given by "the one" were speaking to. Being this was one of Obama's favorite authors, and being that this was one of many he talks about as being the people that shaped his political agenda, it reminds me of the word he used to call them, and those sheep that would follow.

Ever actually stepped up to the pump willing to make the ultimate sacrifice defending the very same freedom you enjoy written about in those same documents you spout off at me about like some pompous priest.

Cleaning the toilets on an aircraft carrier for six years doesn't exactly make you G.I. Freakin' Joe, K? If you haven't been shot at or performed a truly dangerous job there's some question as to how much of a "veteran" you really are, and I've known many, ,many veterans who would back me up on that statement. I've known a lot of support personnel who refuse to call themselves "veterans" simply because they have more personal respect for those who actually work under fire or in constant jeopardy. One guy I work with, while acknowledging his "official" status as a Veteran, refuses to be identified as such because in his own words, "all he did was fix stuff". Because he was never in any real danger he doesn't think of himself as a Vet. So, what, exactly, did you do?
