Folly? Please explain.

US may indeed win the battle but never the war.

Just look how embarrassing Vietnam and Iraq were

To state that the US can't handle Iraq which has no army, and then imply that the US would have no chance against Iran with a "professional" army is to manifest one's ignorance of the military status and capabilities of each country.

The Iranians have never, ever, over the millennia, beaten any Western power, and in fact has been humiliated time and again, in spite of fielding vastly superior numbers.

The US military in a conflict, would go through the Iranian army like crap through a goose.

Properly engaged, a ground force of 20,000 could run amok through Iran. Properly commanded, the Iranians would be drawn to US killing boxes, and slaughtered. The trick is to take something they cannot allow you to keep. And then you taunt.

They would keep coming, as no Persian man could meet the eyes of his people, much less his woman, to allow the situation to remain unresolved.

Slaughter. Of hundreds of thousands, by mere thousands.

Iran doesn't have nearly the army they claim. And they didn't do worth crap against the smaller forces of Iraq. That too, was a slaughter.

But nothing compared to the slaughter a Western nation would conduct.

Try again.

Embarrassing to who?

the only people who it matters how they feel are the US Troops and I don't think they would use the adjective "embarrassed" to describe their effort.

US will win any war against Iran. Period.

See, you may hate America, but I don't. Speak for yourself. Next time say,

"Me and my liberal sister are embarrassed about a war because we are frustrated that Bush made a ballsy, tough, hard nosed, decision to defend this wonderful country from Osama Bin Liden and his growing army centered in the Middle East"

liiiiiiiiiibs, can't live with them, can't live with them

Confusing? The USA could take out Iran (piece of piss) in like a couple of minutes and render them (Gaza Style) Hamas like. Iran is surrounded by the greatest naval armada and two land fronts. When the Iranians do something really stupid (Saddam like) the the mother of all regime changes will make Iran a colony just like Iraq, Saudi, Oman, Egypt, Jordan, etc. You do not mess with the powers that be and expect to get away with it!

right

for a conspiracy site

these people just don't get it

you mess with "The United States" you are messing with the most powerful force on the planet.

backed by the richest, smartest, and most ruthless group of influential men that exist on Earth. Billionaires, leaders of industry, heads of states.

So fourth and so on.

If you believe Saddam was a Freemason, the Iran President could be a Freemason.

which means its all a plot to raise oil prices and make the rich richer

get some perspective here.

I know.

What If they are given a dollar so they can buy a clue.

Hamas,Stop attacking and you stop getting counter attacked.

You would think they would learn, but it seems that they are too stupid or too blood thirsty to want peace.

Are you out of your mind? We're one of their biggest customers. Without us they'd probably go bankrupt. Since they're so dependent on oil and we're so at this point right now addicted to it... what would the economic gain be for them in cutting off oil to us? Their financial system would go kerplut like the rest of the world.

Are you kidding me, it's not the fact that they would go bankrupt because of this but because of the puppet leaders. The people can't do anything cause they will get bombed from within hahaha (US has bases within Arabs states). I don't think Arabs are worried about being broke like Americans, or about this life for a fact hence they are Muslims. If they didn't have puppet leaders than surely this would have been done long long time ago.

For bloorg who said the us would lose because were not doing so great against the insurgents in iraq....wow. Way to ignore the fact that US forces basically have their hands tied behind their backs, to win the hearts of the Iraqi people. Since world war 2, no one has seen the US war machine truly at work. Everything now is meant to be as PC as possible, and were trying to minimize civilian casualties. Dont forget the fact that if the gloves were truly off, and we didnt have to worry about having to pay for rebuilding fallujah, or other places like that, we would have carpet bombed the place, and destroyed every building that we even thought we had unfriendlies residing in. Instead, we do house to house raids as to not completely destroy everything. I mean, we have B-2's, B-52's, and B-1's alone that would level entire population centers if we really had to.

However, back on topic, I think the arabs and Iran should act over the gaza attacks. They should be sitting at the tables, trying to get both sides to stop firing at each other, because all each side is doing is counterattacking against the opposite side's counterattack. Really they have to get hamas to stop launching rockets. Personally i think Israel is perfectly justified in launching the attacks that they are. They should be maybe a little more limited but they're protecting themselves. For those of you saying, well, its just not fair. How about someone launches rockets aimed at killing your family and see how you feel. See what would happen if the US started launching rockets at population centers in Russia, or China. You will probably see a very similar response. But instead of perpetuating the violence, people should accept the fact that its holy ground for about 3 different religions and stop bombing each other over it, and coexist. Stop bombing each other over dirt.

you must remember, elements of the isreali side is doing far worse and always has been, the difference thier rockets are fired from attack helicopters and come with an official label of "military".
there is no difference between a rocket thats aimed at civilians whether its labeled a military rocket or a militant rocket, its still the same intent and effect.

both sides are equally guilty, and both sides does not contain the nations as a whole, its not palestine nor isreal whos responsible its certain organisations on both sides whom are ruining it for everyone else.

and to me it appears as if those guilty organisations always have and will stoke up war, they want war, they want us to kill each other, they must be ignored and drowned out by reason and the rule of law.

its a tricky situation, all it takes is one rocket to be fired and theres the isreali believe they have a perrogative,on the other hand all it takes is the reference of the illegal occupation, starving of civilians and the palastinians beleive they have a perrogative.
whenver one side acts aggressivly against the other in an indiscriminate manner it only plays into the other sides hands........
each side must seek to remove support from the extremists in peaceful methods,no more support for the agressive indiscriminate actions of the isreali military and neither for the indiscriminate actions of the militants, its time for the populace to get thier act together and do what they must, control the actions of thier leaders with the democratic method.

all reason has gone out the window, just and endless cycle of stoking the embers for further fire.

man them medival folks had the right idea, fighting out on pre set battle field away from the population with rules of conduct, weve degraded somewhat, though it was a short lived period of nobility.
