Iran to Arabs: now time to act over Gaza attacks
www.reuters.com
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's president told the Arab League, which meets on Wednesday, it must act quickly to end Israeli attacks on Gaza
Palestinians adding that setting up a committee or making speeches was not enough.
But Mahmoud Ahmadinejad did not suggest any specific action by Arab states, some of which had been criticized by non-Arab Iran for not doing enough to
help protect Palestinians after more than 380 had been killed.
"If the Arab League does not want to do anything today, when does it want to act?" the president told a rally in Zahedan in southeast Iran.
"Aren't these oppressed Palestinians Arabs? So when should the capacity of the Arab League be used? The Arab League should act quickly," he said in a
speech broadcast on state television.

I think that perhaps Iran has made its statement to the worlds leaders and not just the arab ones here. They have basically called out everyone
sitting on the sidelines and accused them of doing nothing about it. They have even gone as far as to call out the UN for not stepping in to stop all
of this blood shed and humanitarian crisis' that is going on.
They have basically called everyone cowards for not standing up and helping out the people trapped in the middle due to relations with isreal.

Wait I thought the Iranians were the ones that were calling people to attack Israel. I think that the Iranian leader is right in that the attacks
need to be stopped but here's what I think. We need to get out of this mindset that we can just let our allies do whatever they want them to
especially if they go around on murderous rampages when they're upset. We've supported hostile regimes in the past. If Israel keeps this up
they'll become a hostile regime. I think we need to ask the Arab nations to patrol around both Israel and Hammas so that the two don't interfere
with each other. That would be the best solution in my opinion... just anything to stop the fighting.

Are you out of your mind? We're one of their biggest customers. Without us they'd probably go bankrupt. Since they're so dependent on oil and
we're so at this point right now addicted to it... what would the economic gain be for them in cutting off oil to us? Their financial system would
go kerplut like the rest of the world.

them....doesnt sound very nice to me this just needs to stop period enough is enough. There has been far to much blood shed all over the world and it
is getting everyone no where fast. okay i feel better now carry on....

Iran to Arabs: now time to act over Gaza attacks
Gaza isn't about Arabs.
There is Arabs in the Israeli defense forces.
Arabs in many forces around the globe.
Gaza is about religious extremists.

Iran could do something intelligent for a change. Stop sending Hamas weapons and tell them to make peace while they are still alive.
Call for the recognition of Israel, and let the healing process begin.

He does ask a damn good question
Why arn`t the Arabs actually helping the Gaza ghetto? Israel have shut the border , Egypt have shut the border Syria arn`t interested - so why is it
the Persians wanting to hewlp when the Arabs don`t care?
there all bloody semite peoples ffs!
and poet
Israel are as much to blame as anyone in this neither side are anything like `innocent` - also i have shown before that Saudi Arabia are the prime
funding for hamas not iran

Yes, the end of what is going on in Gaza is very easy - the 'palestinians' should stop their continual rocket attacks into Israel and they should
BEHAVE themselves with Egypt. Then Egypt will open it's borders back up to them and Israel will stop it's self defense against the rocket
attacks.
The answer is very simple and it all is dependent upon the 'palestinians' playing like civilized people.
But alas, Iran just wants an excuse for war against Israel AND the leader of Iran is a meglomaniac who wants some attention.

Source for that statistic? And it's not 'revenge'. It's self defense.
Those people would still be alive if the 'palestinians' hadn't been trying to kill Israeli civilians - who were in Israel.
get some perspective here.
Same to you.

Wow!!! What is the source of the numbers?
22 Israelis were killed since 2002 - is totally wrong (around 2000 is more like it). 22 killed by rockets - is irrelevent since all 11000
Palestinians (and this number is also puzzling) were not killed in "revenge?" for rockets. There were no rockets from West Bank and yet Palestinians
and Israelis were killed there.
There were more Palestinians killed then Israelis - nobody will argue with that. But it is still not justifying playing with uncomparable numbers to
make it look a lot worse.

the numbers actually came from the big thread , saw them and copied *without checking first* , which by my own admission was a tiny but silly error
looks like someone posted a numbers website above - but im sure like all `body count` websites there is some variation along the way

The only perspective i get from these casualties is that Israel has bigger and more powerful rockets then Hamas.
As long as there so much hate between the two sides this will just keep on going.

I think Israel should be stopped. Iran is right to stand up and call on the world leaders to make them stop attacking the Gaza strip.
If this was Iran attacking another country then the USA would make a big deal about it and remove the Iranian president from power. But because its
there old mate Israel they all just look the other way.
I dont think Gaza is innocent but Israel should be doing something other than killing civilians to get there point across.
On the news the other day I saw a baby probably younger than 2 who had there arm amputated! I saw a few other children with blood all over them but it
was the baby who really caught my eye. When things like this happen you need to take a step back, if it was your child how would you feel.
The heads of Israel should be dragged around those streets to see what they have done. And Russia, USA and the UN should all send some troops to stop
this kind of fighting happening again.

My question is this: What is big bad Iran gonna do about it? They are the ones constantly boasting about cutting off the arms of aggressors and just
stright beligerant bad ass talk about how big and tough they are. Well why dont they just walk thier little baby nuts over to Israel and stop them
from obliterating Hamas?
Why wont they? Because they are all talk and cant or wont back any of it up.

Iran has always been generous with aid. They have taken in a tremendous amount of refugees, and their aid camps have been called the best in the
world. They do it all on their own dime too, but THAT never makes the news huh?
And how would most people feel if their land had been stolen? If they were being systematically starved to death? If their family was dying for lack
of food and basic medical supplies? If their kids were blown up by foreign bombs?
Oh we both know what they would say...they would say they want to KILL the OPPRESSORS! But yet somehow, so many seem to think the Palestinians should
just die quietly and not cause a fuss. They should turn the other cheek and make nice with the people that are trying to wipe them out.
Everytime Israel does this, starts bombing and killing HUNDREDS to "prevent and avenge" the death of a handful, or in some cases no deaths at all,
they surely must know they are pushing already desperate people over the edge and turning them into killing machines that will be on a mission to get
revenge.
