Is the Bible a work of fiction?

Is it possible that the bible was intended as a work of fiction, told and later written thousands of years ago and was later taken out of context? Over hundreds, or thousands of years isn't it possible that a story about something intended to entertain evolve over time into something people desperate for something to believe in pick up and turn into a new religion(s)? What if there's a worldwide cataclysm and mankind barely survives, over the next few thousand years, society starts over and most/all relgions are lost to time until a desperate man who has never even heard of a book or a god, etc., finds a copy of Harry Potter and translates it or hears an old folktale carried down and eventually misinterpreted over generations giving something to believe in? Would they believe that wizards and witches once existed? Doesn't the bible talk about things like magic and angels and demons?

You do know what "mythology" is, don't you?

The Bible is a mixture of old lore, half-remembered stories that might or might not have any basis in factual events, fictional tales created to illustrate a moral or social point, genealogical lists, and so on. When it was written, people didn't have our modern historical attitude that says we need to try to record things exactly as they happened. They never let the truth get in the way of telling a good story.

As a result, some of the most famous figures in the Bible have essentially no archeological or verified historical evidence that shows they ever really existed. Like King Arthur. Or Quetzalcoatl.

But that's where belief comes in. Whether someone chooses to believe these things actually happened, or they were fiction created to entertain or educate people, they have some value either way. Just like any other body of myths.

I agree with your assesment here.
What we call the "Bible" today is nothing more than a collection of stories told over thousands of years.
Yet every culture has these same stories in them.
To me the "Bible" is nothing more than a collection of stories edited for religious reasons to trap and enslave mankind into thinking of monotheism.
The belief in only one god when in reality there are stories with many gods and goddesses.

There isn't a picture of the author on the sleeve, which tells you something.
It is not copyrighted.

No one knows what the original said or where it is, if there were any.

There is no proof that it is a historical document.

Not only is it stories written down from goofy human memory, they have been translated many times over, changing the context quite a few times. A simple word not translated properly can change the entire context of the message.
And what happens if you had a lousy translator?

O.K....now this definitely puts this argument to bed!

The bible is a collection of some of the Ancient Greek and Hebrew Texts.

However the writings have been bastardised and misrepresented by the Roman Church and has degenerated to the B.S. talked today...

Even Jesus said to his disciples... (Found in the Gospel of Thomas and similar in the Roman bible)...

39. Jesus said,

"The Pharisees and the scribes
have taken The Keys of Knowledge
and Hidden Them.

They themselves have Not entered,
nor have they allowed to enter
those who wish to.

You, however,
be as wise as serpents
and as innocent as doves."

The Word God is totally misrepresented and completely misunderstood today.

This was deliberately brought about, by the Roman church.

The ones who followed the carpenter Jesus, fled out of the country, as they feared for their lives.

So Rome got rid of these followers and stopped the uprising.... So they thought....

The followers of the true teachings, are still out of the public eye, even today, for the same reasons....

As for the books referring to the beginning now called The Genesis it was originally recorded in The Zionic Language and the Zionic Language is Not known by 99.9999999999 % of people today...

The Zionic Language was much different than your Languages today...

The Zionic Language was purely a "Geometric Language" Not written as your languages are today!

The Zionic Language was Terminated by the Babylonians when the Jews were taken to Babylon.

In "The Books of Ezra" it tells us that, "the Bones of The Priests and the Scribes were Burnt on The Altars and The Keys of The Temple were Thrown up into the Sun for safe keeping until the Lasts Days...

The Last days refers to the Days of disobedience or the End of the 6,000 year Period.... Now....

There is a New Period starting soon, that will go for another 1,000 Years when at that time another period will start....

The writings were in fact originally about the "Metamorphosis" of The Soul and the Introduction or Birth of "The Son of Man" or "The Man Child" which had absolutely Nothing at all, to do with Human Primates!!!!!

The Birth of The Man Child takes Place in The Soul and Remains in the Soul... And has Nothing at al to do with The Flesh So Called!

What Humankind is looking for has already happened but they can Not recognise it, as The Writings have been Bastardised by The Scribes and Pharisees just as The Carpenter Jesus said would be.....

In the bible it is even written....

"Woe unto you Scribes and Pharisees and Hypocrites...."

All these Ancient writings were a Parable any way for "The True Mind" (that is each Droplet of The True Mind that is the mind humankind falsely claims to be of the Human Primate and isn't but the Droplets are of The One True Mind) and Not the Human Primate.

The human Primate is part of an Optical Based Geometric Program as too is the Universe...

But the Mind is the observer of those programs.
