A search engine as good as google with websites that might have been taken down by google that might be secretive or that are hidden?

A "hidden" website would be hard pressed to be found by a search engine, if they exist.

"IF" someone was hiding a site, you won't find it with any pubic search engine... and I can't think of a private search engine that would help.

I really like the Wayback Machine:

www.archive.org...

It archives the Internets back quite a few years. It's pretty entertaining but I never have used it to search for a disappearing site. It would be worth a look.

well, if google "blocked" or did not cache a website? sometimes it takes a while for the google bot to find your site. also it is possible to tell googlebot to go away, yet allow other bots to index a site.

cuil.com has a very large cache, as well as alexis.com. alexis used to allow you access to their entire cache, by sending them the hard disks. at the time i checked--around 5 or 6 years ago, it was 4 terrabytes.
